Re: POTUS 46:24 - Donald Trump! Superstar!!

You understand that in 1939 Hitler wasnt thought of as he was today right? It isnt like Americans wanted to take him down...
I get that, and I've seen the quotes from the US at the time. That's kind of the problem though don't ya think ;)

No. The problem is you judging the NY Times for representing the populace in 1939 in their newspaper based on modern day ideals.

Re: POTUS 46:24 - Donald Trump! Superstar!!

That there are people out there like flaggy who think trump's administration is one of the most transparent in years is truly frightening. There aren't words to sufficiently describe how divorced from reality one needs to be to believe something like that...:( I don't know if I should feel sorry for him or I should be trying to drive him and people who think like him back underground where they don't need to poison the well anymore than they already are. trump is not the one divorced from reality. Until and unless the Russians decide he has outlived (literally) his usefulness to them, he's just going to keep profiting from his new job. The ones divorced from reality are the flaggys of the world. To borrow a word I've seen trump tweet time and again, sad. Sad.

There were plenty of forward thinking people at the time that understood how much of a problem Hitler was. The NYT writer and editors obviously weren't among them.

There's actually an awful lot written about this both at the time and then later. We don't have to guess.

Flag is useful. He's an exhibit of the epistemic closure of the right and a constant reminder. When you have Flag posting from time to time you're not going to believe "we should just let the system fail and then they'll see." No, they won't see. If they could see they'd already have seen. Flag lives in the Upside Down. He'll never cross over to this plane.

The only solution is to close the gate.

So far? Yes.

They both stole their election so that's a wash.
I've made it home and am pouring my second Four Roses Single Barrel (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for you bourbon aficionados). As such, I am in a unique position to adequately question above post. Despite being a swing vote moderate (something that, IIRC, you stated doesn't exit and makes me near Fascist on this board), I can put on my blue colored glasses and easily understand how some say that GWB stole the election. I do find it difficult to say the same for our current DB-in-chief. IMO, HRC lost the election rather than tDonald stealing it. Where am I wrong?

Oddly enough, the major pieces of policy that President Obama did- primarily the ACA- is one that people seem to really, really want to keep. All of that crap about voting in people who would over turn it, and it turns out once they figured out how it worked and helped them, they want it. Stunning.

Not sure why people keep railing on the two parties. Democrats represent what most Democrats really want. It's the republicans that one seem to not figure out what they are voting for- since they haven't done what you want them to be doing for about 40 years. We've been through this before.... You want a balanced budget, but keep voting for people who just want to cut taxes and spend more money killing other people. You want to end abortion, and R's come up with ideas that just get thrown out in court. One can go on....

YOU need to find the third party that represents YOU, and stop voting anti-Democrat for the sake of being anti-Democrat. Otherwise, we get the mess we all have right now.

BTW, the idea that it hasn't worked out- I think I speak for many here- we told you so.

The people who aren't paying through the nose want to keep it! I'm on record as saying I fully support single payer.

I don't really agree with your second point. There are definitely true believers in both parties(and certainly some on this board), but I'm sure there are just as many liberals out there who hate rural blue collar gun owners as vice versa. Where did you come up with the anti-abortion stuff? I'm completely neutral on that issue(similar to Biden.)

There really isn't a third party out there that represents my views, certainly not the libertarian or green parties. I can see why people think that the Democrats are better than the Republicans, but they still are a long, long ways away from being ideal. It seems in the last 10 years they have become much more hard-line then in the past too. It would be nice if someone like Bloomberg or Zuckerberg launched a third party that truly had the best interests of our country and citizens in mind, but without any extreme views on guns, soda, abortion, etc.

I'm surprised Sarah Huckabee-Sanders can't see how bad of a job she's doing. Or in her case, she can't see how bad of a job she's doing and the snack machine.

Oh, she can see the snack machine.

And I think she's actually pretty proud of herself for the job she's doing.

So the abortion thing isn't directed specifically at you, but there are many single item voter who votes for the R's in spite of the whole picture, and in spite of the rather obvious problem that they rarely address what you are voting for in realistic terms. Guns, abortion, God, etc- all of them are items that people like you have been convinced to overlook everything else because D's are evil and will take that away, kill babies, take down Christmas decorations, etc. All they ever do is cut taxes and increase military spending. Other than that, I can't see anything significant in the last 40 years.

Yet people continue to ignore their actual track record and believe the crap coming out of their mouths. Just like they ignore the facts when trying to justify the tax cuts that will somehow make this huge change in the economy. And they ignore science to make sure their donors in the oil and coal business get more profits, letting China take advantage of that and build a alternate energy economy that we should be building.

And you STILL vote for that. I just don't understand why.

If you want a single payer, why do you vote republican???? Honestly, why?

Cause Dems are gonna take his guns.

Just as with Joe, Dems are gonna round up pregnant women and rip the fetuses from their wombs.
