Good thing we sent them all our PPE!
(we discussed this in real time back in Feb/March but it is worth reiterating in light of the tapes)
Oh he’ll help by sending in more government agents to “investigate the Antifa threat”.He knows he can't win that state so he won't even pretend to care...
I saw that from a high school friend out in Portland. Wasn't quite sure how accurate that was. I also saw a rumor that right wing self appointed militia were setting up "checkpoints" harassing those who are fleeing the path of the fire.(Seriously, it’s already going around that these fires on the West Coast were intentionally started by Antifa.)
Oh yeah, the ammosexuals “have to stop the looting”. Or, you know, people evacuating from their homes.I saw that from a high school friend out in Portland. Wasn't quite sure how accurate that was. Give him a break then: he's functioning at a Pre-K level.
I recently had an interesting conversation with a casual friend of mine who is also a small town lawyer. Probably late 60s. He was an active republican for many years and even served as an officer of the state GOP at one time. He initially supported Walker, but after he saw how poisonous he was, he stopped voting republican.
We were commenting on the high number of Trump signs in the county in comparison to Biden signs. I mentioned that I often wonder about the occupants of those homes and what it would take to make a person continue to support Trump. He said, "It's simple: racism. They may deny it and rationalize any number of reasons why they support him, but it's just comes down to racism."
Not exactly a nuanced read of the situation but a little surprising coming from a former and long term republican.

Col. Alexander Vindman, who will be on NBC Nightly News tonight, is the subject of an interview in The Atlantic.
"President Trump should be considered a useful idiot and a fellow traveler, which makes him an unwitting agent of Putin," he says.
Vindman continues, “In the Army we call this ‘free chicken,’ something you don’t have to work for—it just comes to you. This is what the Russians have in Trump: free chicken.”
The latter description is exactly what Biden should include in any discussion of foreign policy during the first debate.
