So the danger is real and rather than confront it we should ignore it and it'll just go away. Excellent strategy. That's sure to work. Soma.

Pretty much what's happened since 1980. Look, the voting block for God, Anti-Gays, and Guns, along with the delusion of thinking you can have nice things without paying for them is massive. And for the last 40 years that is what has ruled the day in America.

Funny irony. This morning on MSNBC (liberal media) there was someone from the Economist on tearing into Elizabeth Warren and all her proposals saying they will do more "harm" then good. This mindset where people "need" a billion dollars to live is ****ing insanity. And if it doesn't end soon we're doomed as a species.

The Economist is a great institution but nobody even mistook it for liberal. It's the Paper of Record for the international finance class. If you look carefully at the masthead I'm sure you'll see Rover's name.

Those people have a place -- in my ideal world Jacobin is the Left and the Economist is the Right. I could live in that world -- the smart people would make the important decisions and the dim bulbs' natural tendency towards superstition and violence would be indulged with sportsball and teevee and ignored at the sovereign level. There is no current Republican politician who would make the cut in that world other than Weld and maybe Romney, unless you count Roberts and Gorsuch.

Just throwing spaghetti against the wall, but what if this backfires and pulls votes away from Trump? She check marks all the boxes that Trump does, but she isn't the publicly racist P.O.S. that he is. A lot easier for GOP to get behind her than it is to continue to take Trump...

No, you’re missing the point completely. While the danger is real, you don’t simply whine about it. You resolve to combat it to keep it from destroying your country, your life, your mind. Once the negative, defeatist talk springs forth the animals will strike all the harder and all that more often because the defeatist mindset emboldens them.

He will put up a fight...but Inauguration Day he is out. They are loyal to the office not him.

Why would the FBI, who he has crapped on since day 1, let him stay in power? Why would the military, who he ha scrapped on AND put in harms way do it?

The Nazism of the Republicans is an existential threat to democracy if we let it stay in power. However, the strength and intelligence of these people themselves is minuscule when we confront them. These are infants holding the bomb. Remove their fingers from the bomb and they are nothing. The right is the silt trap of cowardice and irresponsibility in American life. Abort the GOP and its followers will slide back into their entropic formlessness and resume their proper social function as the breeding ground of convicts, welfare frauds, and strippers.

Combat it how? Type mean things about them on the Internet? Share some dank memes? Anyone else here physically attend a rally and confront these Nazis in person?
