Re: POTUS 45.60: He's Such A Delicate Boy and a Hysterical Man

As I said previously I’d double the gas tax and increase the income tax by a percentage point. These arent easy problems to fix but they are important ones. Doing nothing isn’t a recipe for success.

Gas tax-regressive. Hurts the poor and middle class worse than the 1%, who can most afford to pay more. Figures that's your solution.

1% across all brackets? Same thing. Again, figures, coming from you.

And would that money be enough?

And electric cars are more prevalent. I'd keep the gas tax where it is, but electric vehicle yearly registration/license plate is double or triple a standard car registration.

Why do they keep talking to these clowns. Now they arent even disputing it they are just saying it isnt fair.

Just like facts have a liberal bias...apparently fairness does as well ;)

Neither tax has to be regressive. The gas tax can be offset with an income tax credit for the difference for low and middle income earners. The gas tax increase would also incentivize people to use less gas which is obviously good for the environment. The income tax increase for low and middle income earners could easily be offset with a higher standard deduction. Neither one is that complicated.

Keep in mind that part of my plan would be making public transportation free which would obviously be a huge help for low and middle income earners.

If I work for the state for 25 years, I'll get 50% of the average of the highest 5 out of my last 7 years with the state. 30 years = 60%, 40 years = 65% (cap). And to get any of those amounts in full, I have to meet other eligibility requirements based on age and years of service before claiming retirement, or else there is a steep penalty for taking it early.

Roughly 6 percent of my gross pay, and a state match of about 9 percent, are paid to the pension to fund that.

In the mean time, my base salary is probably 20 percent below what the private sector pays (and until my last promotion, was probably 50% below the private sector). And I don't get quarterly bonuses.

In other words, **** off, and don't even think of screwing with my pension.

Then go get a private sector job.

Govt lawyer

But why go to all that trouble? Just tax the rich directly. Zero out all the regressive taxes and make up the difference by restoring the higher bracket taxes on income, property, and corporations that Dubya, Reagan, and Kennedy eviscerated. Enact a small wealth tax to claw back what the rich stole the last 60 years.

We used to have a strong middle class, then the supply-siders got their way, and now we have an insane class of super rich and everyone else is screwed.

Reverse it. Go back to Eisenhower's tax rates.

It is so f-cking obvious.

I was going to say this, but dumber.

They better hope he wins...because if thing goes pear shaped for them next year there is going to be quite the reckoning.

Do you think there's going to be meaningful elections next fall?
Do you think if Sniffles loses he is going to leave peacefully?
