You arent confronting it and neither is Scooby. You are Chicken Littling it. The difference between you and say Bill Maher is that you think everyone who is in position to stop Trump will just magically say "Ya know what, he is right screw our jobs KEEP THAT GUY IN THE WHITE HOUSE!!!". Maher just believes Trump will throw a hissy fit and need to be thrown out on his butt.
You guys are playing defeatist...we already lost and even if we havent someone will screw us anyways. Its Scooby's usual game...but it is a bit weird to see it from you.
But you sit in the corner scared of the big bad boogey man and his legion of secret police that will make sure he never leaves office again. If that is what you need to do to stay motivated and fight the good fight have at it. Doesnt make it any more legit but it doesnt hurt anyone either.

The core problem Democrats have, and why the Republicans get away with what they do get away with is, Democrats believe in Government. To this day, Amy Klobuchar believes she can "work" with Republicans. And if you believe in the rule of law, and believe in the United States you ultimately have to believe you can work with these people.
But, you can't. And that is the dilemma facing the Republic.
And we have the 8 years of the Obama Presidency as proof of this fact.

I lumped them together because I think they each mean well but are exaggerating for effect in ways that are counterproductive. I recognize they are each doing this as a warning not to be overconfident, and I agree with that warning.
Scooby is always a shade away from suicide. Everything sucks, this country sucks, we can never win, woe is me.
trix has lately been on about how the Dark Forces are going to keep Dump in office.
I believe both of these claims are ridiculous. They aim to alert us that there is danger but WE ALL KNOW THERE IS DANGER and all this does is puff up the enemy to more than it is. We need to eradicate the GOP from American politics and uproot and annihilate all the diseased little cul de sacs of filth that have powered it: the racism, the misogyny, the barely concealed astro-turfing of fake "populist" fronts by the Plutes, the bizarre Christian Taliban terrorists. We need to do all that but we also have to keep clear that:
1. Institutional support is with us; we speak for law and order and American tradition. We are America. They are an attacking enemy.
2. Their leadership are just a bunch of fourth rate thugs. Dump, Pence, McConnell, Graham, these are all trashbags. They are cowards, weaklings, and morons.
3. Their followers lack even basic virtues that would support them in a fight. They are, in a word, losers. They will always lose when confronted.
Kill this disease but don't pretend it's impressive. It's just mental and moral dry rot. We get in there are scour it out. We aren't fighting an evil super villain, we're fighting a case of head lice that got out of hand.

I have confronted it. Face to face. Quite literally a wall of policemen separating me and a Nazi thug. I see the threat as very real because I have been out there and seen it firsthand. I'm not a keyboard warrior who shares a social media post and then celebrates that I stood up to fascism.

As soon as you cut off the head the body will die and be easily disposed of. That's why Reconstruction was a rousing success and Lincoln remains the longest-serving president in American history. As soon as the traitors were defeated a sense of peace and justice swept across the nation and every man, woman and child celebrated that all men were finally equal (not women though, that would be silly)
