The thing is, Mueller could act with honor and integrity and it would not turn the republican party into a smoking crater. The party is already the party of trump. 95% or more of it supports everything trump does and says. Nothing will change, even if Mueller comes out and says exactly what those hundreds (or was it 1000s?) of former prosecutors said when they noted that had trump NOT been president he clearly would have been indicted for the crimes the evidence gathered showed he committed. This stuff IS a waste of time.
The democrats need simply to put forth a legislative agenda that is progressive and meets the needs of the country. And then speak about how the other side is doing nothing but acting like obstructionists on everything and anything, and have completely abdicated their constitutional responsibilities.
We just need to spend a few more elections electing the slightly better party. If we did that at some point the scales would tip and the slightly better party might become the better party, at which point the other party might need to change to stay alive. We've spent decades (or maybe our whole existence as a nation) going down the wrong path. It will take years (or decades or even centuries) to make it mostly right.

Let's say you're right (and to be honest... yeah, you probably are. If Mueller says "actually Dump is a criminal and should be impeached but G. Gordon Liddy was holding my family hostage that day so I had to delay the real findings" every single Republican voter in this country will hear His Fascisty belch "fake news!" and Fox wheedle "a controversial assertion which many Republican Members are countering" and they won't even skip a beat in their slavish homage to the Dumperor.
It's still not a waste of time to do the right thing.

If he is the hero/man of principle some of you pretend he is he will answer every question to the best he can and will give them plenty of ammo. If he is the coward he tends to look like these days he will take Barr's warning and run with it. Either way we know where to go next.

We'll see. Frankly I expect Mueller to screw the Democrats entirely and all the "news" will be Republican conspiracy theories for the summer break. If Schiff and Nadler are able to ask the right questions and get answers from Mueller it might work.
