Mueller attempting to shut down the Steele Dossier and the origins of the original investigation. Says he can't answer questions about it. What will the water carriers do now? Collins opening statement was largely about those topics.

There is no greater offense to spoken word than a southern accent.

Mueller is stumbling because the line of questioning is confused and almost unintelligible.

Seriously, Collins keeps switching between collusion and conspiracy. It was very confusing.

He spoke fast, but I understood the collusion question no problem. Hearing Mueller defend his "they're not the same" after having his own words thrown back at him was embarrassing.

And now he just stumbled over Trump's name with the new questioner.

For a man who chooses his words carefully, he sounds extremely nervous, as if someone is holding his dog at gunpoint under the table.

The distinction was between the colloquial usage in which they are not the same and the letter of the statute in which they are "substantially." Collins did a good job hiding this slide of context and I was surprised Mueller did not pointedly make the distinction. Collins was rebutted but to the average listener it sounded like he won his point. That's how DA's get elected.

The hostility and cynicism being shown by the Republican Members is astounding. I guess they feel they have to crank it up to 11 for Dumpy to be appeased. c.f. Kavanaugh.
