Note: we should have done this. It would have been so cool plus by now 70% of the US would be Spanish-speaking.

This could be fun. I would hope that Roberts and even Gorsuch would say, "we just told you...," but, again, no more heists without Republican majorities and presidents so who knows?

I posted that yesterday...there is already an injunction against the action and the Judge is ticked off that he is being ignored. Even Trump's lawyers have no idea what is going on. It is too late anyways the Census is being printed without the question.

This is just Dump being Dump. He has no knowledge except what he wants. Think of him as a hungry belly. The belly makes noises like "it's happening" or "we're exploring it" or "many people are saying." All of the noises simply mean "I want." They are the belly growling.
All of Dump's noises come down to:
1. I want attention
2. I want respect
3. I didn't get either so I want to make someone suffer
Maybe he's tapped into the primal conservative brain. They all seem to be like this, more of less. Most of them are just a lot better at hiding it.
More and more I become convinced it all comes down to: sh-tty parents who didn't show their kids love. Emotionally withholding mothers and violent tough guy fathers. Which then they'll just pass on to the next generation, like child abuse. Maybe someday there will be a cure. Or we'll, you know, shoot them into the sun.

Even if they put the question in, you can refuse to answer it and leave it blank. The fine for skipping a question is $100 and it is rarely enforced. They still count most of the partially-completed ones.
Worst-case scenario, one of the Census employees shows up at your door to clear things up.

That's been the case for years. Fewer and fewer smarties outside of the service academies want to join up, so today it's a dumping ground for any ill-adjusted brat with a sub-100 IQ whose family isn't independently wealthy. A few years back, one of my cousins from the derpy right-wing side of the family enlisted and couldn't even get through basic, they actually threw him out for being overly insolent and incapable of following orders.
That's been the case for years. Fewer and fewer smarties outside of the service academies want to join up, so today it's a dumping ground for any ill-adjusted brat with a sub-100 IQ whose family isn't independently wealthy. A few years back, one of my cousins from the derpy right-wing side of the family enlisted and couldn't even get through basic, they actually threw him out for being overly insolent and incapable of following orders.

Sad part is modern military doesn’t need cannon fodder anymore.... and significant upgrades in the medical Corp means instead of body bags, these kids return home without limbs but alive. Lt. Dan had a point there....

We have a friend whose son joined up last year. He's not what you'd call intellectually curious but he's a really nice guy. (I did my best to dissuade him but his aunt who raised him (his parents are true deplorables) was "look he needs structure and he's not going to get a job any other way.")
He was back home for a visit a few weeks ago and he told us stories from basic. Essentially the kids break down to two evenly sized halves: poor AF kids, mostly black, who just needed to get out of the sh-thole life their parents condemned them to, and spectacularly stupid kids, mostly white, who obviously had some sort of brain injury or emotional stunting and were overly violent or at least aggressive. The kids are very self-policing and so early on the latter group get, ahem, reeducated. The ones who can adapt stay; the ones who can't wash out and probably become cops or Border Patrol.
