They were supporting Cruz because he's a globalist, and trying to get the GOP to not support a nationalist in Trump.

The reason he's universally hated is because he's a colossal dick. Which, all things considered, when the other dicks in Washington all hate you, is really saying something.

Liberals in general place Cruz even below Trump on the theory that an incompetent monster beats a competent monster.

The Beltway joke was that the other Republicans were horrible by accident but Cruz was by intelligent design.

That committee doesn't meet with foreign leaders. Joe Scarborough and Claire McCaskill confirmed this this morning. Meeting with that Russian would have been done by the Foreign relations committee. Joe used to serve on the armed services committee for the house and Claire serves on it now in the Senate.

I don't really care but it is sort of funny that all somebody had to do was search McCaskill's twitter account to find a couple of tweets that start out : "Off to a meeting with the Russian Ambassador" and " Today calls w/ British, German and Russian Ambassadors".

Asked to explain, McCaskill said the meeting on adoption was with about a dozen other senators. She said she never had been contacted by the Russian ambassador nor had a one-on-one meeting with him.

"The Russian ambassador has never called me. The Russian ambassador has never requested a meeting. I have never met with the Russian ambassador one-on-one," McCaskill said. "I went to a meeting on adoptions, and he was there. But it was a bunch of senators. And it had nothing to do with the Armed Services Committee."

what were those 2 morons trying to spin anyhow? that sessions met with the russian ambassador in cmte? that their cmte invited some odd ambassador into talk to the group of senators?

senators as individuals don't meet with foreign dignitaries on their own? but can only do so while in cmte? and only then if they are on a foreign relations cmte?

what self important chunk blowing idiots! :p

(Obviously not Putin himself, but one of his underlings. Putin wouldn't speak to a low level flunky like Trump.)

they are important. but she doesn't appear to talk to anyone (other than news outlets). she is happy to go on twitter and announce that no foreign leaders ever call her. guess they only deal with the men ;)
