You're forgetting that Flag pretends to be a small 'l' libertarian, instead of the Fark Independent™ that he really is.

EDIT: I mean, think about it. Real libertarians are social liberals - the majority of them are anarchists who don't care about gays/gender queers, or abortion, or open borders. Flag has vociferously argued against all three, using the standard Republican/Teabagger arguments about pedos, criminals, and definitions of life/slut shaming. He hates taxes and cops who interfere with white people, but loves the border patrol and other expensive efforts to deport non-whites. He really is a perfect fit for the current Republican Party.

C'mon people, don't pay attention to the information in the leaks, pay attention to the leaks themselves because they're illegal. Unless it's Hillary and Wikileaks, then pay attention only to the information and not the illegal leak.

Also only Hillary's email server and not Pence's hacked server and two aol emails.

Oh and only Hillary's connections to Wall Street but not the so called billionaire's.

Don't forget all Hillary's lies(still not clear on this), not all those those times the president lied to our faces about no one in his campaign having contact with Russia.

The problem with liberals and outrage is that we don't use it nearly as effectively as those on the right. The right has been screaming scandal for more than a generation: Whitewater, Fostergate, Travelgate, EMAILZ!, BENGHAZI!. None of those had substance, but that did not slow down the drumbeat or the volume level on the next trumped up scandal one bit. To right wing radio, House Rs, and rest of that dog-that-was-once-a-tail, failing to prove the scandal does not diminish their confidence or cause them to back off on the next one. They understand that if they keep it in the eyes and ears of the voters long enough, it is true, whether it is true or not. Hillary Clinton is proof of its success.

Liberals aren't as good as playing the game. If the recent outrage over Sessions' contacts with the Russians proves to have relatively little real substance, liberals will feel they overplayed their hand and missed the mark, losing credibility. On the whole, they don't want to be wrong. The cons have very successfully shown that if it works it's not wrong. Trump has lied boldly and continually, but instead of hurting him it's made him immune to accusation. To his (we now realize) substantial but passively silent base, he still has clothes on.

Trump's instinct is to bluff, bait, and lie. We're going to have a formal investigation, which means discovery and testimony under oath. a + b = perjury.

Donald Trump is all bait. It is the essence of his existence, his governing principle. Herds of stray cats follow him around because he smells like a bag of musty tuna. He is one of those creepy deep-sea monster fish, all eyes and teeth and dangled glowing lure. Every tweet is a ladle of chum tossed into the water. It takes a special kind of self-control to lay off, but you have to if you want to keep everyone's eyes fixed on what matters, and not on whatever is scrolling across the careening Times Square ticker-tape screen that passes for his mind.

Interesting piece on NPR this morning- mentioning that even with the travel ban on hold, there are a lot of people who are being detained at the airports as they come to the US.

Including US citizens who are being asked what their religion is. Kalila Ali, the wife of Mohamed Ali, and their son, were held after telling agents that they were Muslim. Yay.

What the heck was sent to our border agents??? That's a massive shift in what they do.

Thank Parise for NPR and, in my neck of the woods, WPR. But I think they, too, disappointed in the last campaign cycle.

I posted the story of the Ali's the day it happened...it still boggles my mind. But I am sure Obama once said something somewhere which totally equals what is being done in Trump's name...

The Left needs to keep going after everything this dumpster fire of an administration does. You want the people to flip sides you hammer at everything until the people change their minds. The Trumpers never will but you dont need them...dont let up on travel bans and corrupt members of the Administration. Paint them all as part of the same brush, Russian Red and racist as sin. From now until 2020 that is your job.

The document, from the Office of Intelligence and Analysis, makes the case that most foreign-born, U.S.-based violent extremists are likely not radicalized when they come to the U.S., but rather become radicalized after living in the U.S. for a number of years.

The document follows another piece of research (pdf) from Homeland Security that undercut President Trump’s rationale for a travel ban as a means of keeping violent extremists out. On Friday, the Associated Press published an analysis from Homeland Security that said citizenship in any given country – including the seven countries listed in the executive order – is likely an unreliable indicator of whether someone poses a terrorist threat.
