So is it dump and co or the entire republican party that have horrible legal council?

I've been thinking it was the entire republican party for a long time- given their total lack of ability to put someone in jail that they think they know committed crimes. It's either that, or the person didn't actually commit the alleged crime.

Now I'm even more thinking that R's have the worst lawyers of all time. How could dumps legal team be so very, very bad?

You can contradict yourselves that much, and give the play to the other team if you really want to win.

If it weren't so sad that we are dealing with a whole host of admitted liars, it would be really funny. This is taking West Wing or House of Card and turning it into a slapstick comedy.

How many more lawyers are coming out of that tiny car from the law firm Larry, Mo, and Giuliani?

The best part of the Giuliani interview was after confirming that Trump had lied repeatedly about the entire Stormy affair, he said that between Trump and Comey, Comey is the liar. Uh-huh. Sure. :rolleyes:

It's Trump's legal team that is bad, because he won't shut up and isn't known for paying. If McConnell needed a lawyer for some reason, he'd have plenty of conservative law firms ready to jump in.

Avenatti is a great lawyer. Trump got in even more hot water this morning. The line is that they are throwing the Avenatti case so Cohen won't go State's evidence on the Mueller case.

Trump should be in big trouble. If he were anyone but the President he would be at trial by now or settling.

If he wasn’t the president, we wouldn’t have heard of any of this. Nor would he have faced charges. Nor would he be resettling with Daniels.

Becoming president was the worst possible thing he could do. He exposed himself to he real power brokers. They don’t like what he’s doing to their agenda so his fake billionaire braggadocio isn’t going to cut it here like it would anywhere else.

He decided to become President. I didn't force him. Most people I would assume change some of their behavior when becoming President.

I vaguely see what Giuliani was trying to do, which is to explain the absurd notion already put forth by Cohen and Chump that Cohen decided to pay off Daniels out of his own pocket. I can't keep up anymore but is the Daniels case strictly a civil case, or have the Feds been questioning them about the payoff? If its just civil I agree that it looks like they'll just settle with her again for defamation/slander since it turns out she's been telling the truth all along, while I read the strategy regarding Mueller will be to sit down with him and take the 5th repeatedly as his base and Republican cowards in Congress would still stand by him.

The Daniels case is most certainly not a civil case. There are potential FEC issues, bank fraud if he lied on his mortgage application, and I’m guessing there is more under the covers.

The Daniels case has always what at least some of us have known it is. Trump had sex with a porn star. Then, as he was running for President, he tried to buy her silence by paying her $130,000, through a deal brokered by Cohen.

It's turning into both.

Rudy *tried* to explain that this was some kind of normal, private payout- which kind of makes some sense. Had don not 100% admitted that he had no idea what was going on, that would fly. As it is, since dump said he had no knowledge, and Cohen paid on his own, and it very much aided the campaign, I think the idea that it's a campaign contribution is a pretty easy thing to demonstrate by just using public statements. So rudy has made the civil case a lot easier.

So then he mentions the payback- he tells us dump knows and lied at the same time- but the additional info that the payback happened over a few months really raised an interesting possibility. Payments that are less than $10k don't have to be announced or tracked. Why in the world would a billionaire need to pay off a measly $130k payment over installments????

Rudy basically added some very serious possibilities that are very criminal. All done while dump was NOT president.
