Re: POTUS 45.3 - Bowling Green Massacre Memorial Thread

I'm surprised at the number of under age 30 women at pro-life rallies.

evangelicals are the fastest (only?) growing sect of Christianity in the U.S.
I've definitely noticed a trend around here of younger Christians abandoning traditional denominations and joining one of those new aged evangelical churches (you know, with the electric guitars and young pastors, not the 'con the old ladies out of their money' evangelical churches)

Funny. Trump and the Republicans are doing that right now with the rest of the world. The Travel Ban which eventually will go through will affect these kids and make more terrorists. Yet, no one cares about that.

So, **** the red states.

I am with handy- really don't want to leave those kids behind. However, I don't know what the dems can do in some of those states- the Rs could come in, rape their pets, burn their house down, and they'd still refuse to vote for a dem. Decades of stupidity breeding this.

Listen, I understand why you have this attitude. Heck, living in a Red State I wonder myself sometimes. But if we ever hope to accomplish anything we're going to need Red States as well. Like I said, there are some of us liberals here (and no we can't move). Maybe if the Democratic Party gave a **** about us things would go better.

Re: POTUS 45.3 - Bowling Green Massacre Memorial Thread

10 years mowing lawns made it very clear to me I wanted a job inside.

I used to mow laws as a kid. When I was in high school I was working on a small grounds crew for a couple cemeteries. After a couple years I was in charge of maintenance and I hired my best friend to work with me. The two of us did all the work ourselves (the old work crew was 4 people). It was a great couple summers. We'd bust our ***, and then take a break and sit in the shade of a big tree and just shoot the ****.

now I'm a code monkey. I actually miss manual labor. On a nice summer day, I look at the guys doing our landscaping outside and wish I could trade jobs for a day.

Those are also the Joel Osteen "I'm OK, You're OK" churches where the important thing is that you feel good about yourself, and forget stuff like sin and redemption.

I doubt most of those folks are anti-choice.

Guess who's back, back again: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...ministration-position/?utm_term=.355417ad8095

Because the last thing he ran turned out so well.

So the man who helped cover up rape, assault cheating and other violations at Baylor (after wasting millions on endless Clinton Investigations that went nowhere) might be part of Drumpf's government. I dont see how that could go wrong at all...

Has a bigger scumbag ever existed? Me thinks not.

This ad is supposed to run on SNL this weekend. Check it out:

That is amazing!

The Vets are also fighting on behalf of DAPL as well. Funny, you would think they would be on the other side since we all know the GOP is the party that cares about the Vets the most! (only when they are dead obviously)

Agreed, well educated children means better educated future voters and just a stronger country in general. I think on some level you need federal education for this purpose but there's only so much that can be done there.

Re: POTUS 45.3 - Bowling Green Massacre Memorial Thread

"Come with us if you want to live."

It's up to the voters. Nobody's forcing those states to become America's South Sudan.

You understand that the Blue States wont be Heaven and the Red States Hell right? We are all connected so if you want to cut off the Red States completely like that understand it will hurt us too. We dont have to save them but we dont need to light the match just because they doused themselves in gasoline either.

Maybe you're right.

I know a few people that go to those churches. Some even left one to start their own feel good evangelical church. I'm pretty sure they think abortion is a sin, but they aren't vocal about it. I'm not sure they would go to a anti-choice rally though. They tend to keep that kind of stuff to themselves. They're more about thanking Jesus for everything good in their life and being super positive about everything and everyone.

But I think it is a different story for young evangelicals in the south.

All you can do is hope for the future. **** the parents, not the child.

Kind of the same dynamic that makes us create more terrorists in the world? And do stupid things to make things worse? Yeah, I'm aware. **** 'em.
