POTUS 45.3 - Bowling Green Massacre Memorial Thread

All I learned from manual labor jobs was to work my butt off for 4 years so I could take it easy for 40 years.

It's no sin to be poor, but it's no great honor either.

Completely agree. It's good for kids to get that experience before it's too late.

Corollary: all kids 13-15 should have to take care of babies.

That would cut teen pregnancy to zero.

10 years mowing lawns made it very clear to me I wanted a job inside.

I learned that, and that manual labor needs unions.

I have more respect for them than anyone. I can't imagine doing that for 40 years.

I mowed this lawn for a short time one summer. Place was owned by an Arab who would helicopter in from Manhattan from time to time. His property manager told me, "oh, and there's a public beach about three places down, so keep the n-ggers off our grass."

That taught me there are times when you quit.

No kidding. If the janitors of this country unionized they could demand the salaries of neurosurgeons. Good luck asking Joe CFO to unclog his own toilet.

Give them an exam at 6 and track them -- top to post-graduate professions, middle to business, bottom to consumers. Allow for readjustments as you go along with kids either moving up or down a tier based on initiative and talent. Recognize that what works for the smart is a wall for the dumb and what works for the dumb is asphyxiation for the smart.

Did you just really advocate tracking instead of mainstreaming? Tracking is old-school 1950s educational thinking.

I'm surprised at the number of under age 30 women at pro-life rallies.

I think it's one of those self-selection things, though. EVERY anti-choice woman under 30 is at those rallies. It's like pot in 1975. On one side 100% of the people with the opinion are attending the rally, on the other side, nobody bothers to show up because well duh it's just common sense.

A shame. A lot of them are cute, in a very well-scrubbed way.

The butthurt is strong with this one...

Its not like the media ignored the candidate your side put up.

Apparently you don't know the definition of fawned.

What they did with Trump was treat him, rightly, something like, well, this. Problem is, people looked at it, and then voted for it.

With regards to a woman being president and what side of the table she would be from, I remember back when Robert Dole was running and reading about his wife Elizabeth, who I think was the head of the Red Cross at the time, and how good of a candidate she would have been.

< virtual fistbump >

The wrong Dole was on the ticket.

Working in a factory as a kid did me a lot of good and certainly makes me appreciate the job I have now. I think everyone should have to work a bad job or two when they're young.

So they can turn out as enlightened and successful as you? LOL

Re: POTUS 45.3 - Bowling Green Massacre Memorial Thread

Scooby we cant do that. I am all for letting the Red States burn with their decisions but you are punishing kids that had zero to do with it and you are forcing them to be stupid. I am sorry but that is a bridge too far for me and as a parent it should be for you as well.

If you **** half the country to stupidity you will drag us all down guaranteed. If they choose to be stupid that is their problem but students cant choose in this manner and the way to win this war is through education.

Funny. Trump and the Republicans are doing that right now with the rest of the world. The Travel Ban which eventually will go through will affect these kids and make more terrorists. Yet, no one cares about that.
