Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

It's hard to keep the bigger picture in mind on this greatness thing. America was great that day in sixth grade when I accidentally rubbed up against Debbie Schmitt in the band room when I was pulling my trombone out of the rack. That year, and three years on either side of it, was made glorious by that one incident, and I barely understood why. People in other places were suffering greatly that day in 1964, but who knew?

Were you really pulling your trombone out of the rack, or is that just code for what you were really doing? And was it really an "accident"? ;) :D

America was great back when its factories were humming thanks to all that immigrant labor staffing them.

I was an innocent, so it must have been her. But I was awakened that day to some of the wonderful potential this country has.

That is why I understand so well Trump's distorted view of the 50s. There's a band room in his past he has not gotten past, and he is still as blind to other people's suffering as I was that day.

Just a couple calls with foreign leaders for Trump today. He threatened to invade Mexico and screamed at one of our best allies in Australia.

His call with Putin went remarkably well though.

I'm starting to get to the rage point where I just say fu** it, let Trump burn the US down. We'll start from scratch.

Based on how he's been handling things, my expectations of the revised NAFTA makes me think that we will loose even more jobs. Heck, we've already given the Pacific to China.

He's going to go into the negotiations thinking he's got the lead, the Mexican and Canadian leaders will let him think that, a quick deal will get done, and only later we will figure out that we will get totally screwed.

Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

Its unreal how its 180 degrees from 8 years ago. Almost word for word .

Yes just like 8 years ago, where everyone was freaking out about a black man being in charge, and all the horrible things he MIGHT do. Now skin color is just a convenient insult to add in while freaking out about the horrible things the president is ACTUALLY doing. Oh, I guess it is nothing like 8 years ago.

Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

He threatened to invade Mexico?

From the transcript:

"You have a bunch of bad hombres down there. You aren't doing enough to stop them. I think your military is scared. Our military isn't, so I might just send them down to take care of it"

But, but, but, he promised to bring jobs back to the US! He said he was going to re-open the coal mines and abandoned factories!

He pulled his trombone all right, but that was after he got back home.

He says he wants to get out of all these trade "partnerships", and negotiate separate agreements with other states. There's not a state out there that's gonna offer us any sort of deal that will cause their relations with China to suffer.

Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

OK, but I can't imagine why any libertarian would defend Trump in any way. Trump is the anti-libertarian. Even on issues he doesn't give a crap about like abortion he is perfectly happy to see the GOP enact Jesus Sharia as long as they bow and scrape to him.

He didnt defend Trump though...he said the Dems were being whiny children over the appointments. He is wrong, but it has zero to do with Trump.

Dont fall into the trap of thinking everyone who isnt on our side supports Emperor Urea. Dillo most likely would like to shove the EOs up Trumps crack just on the idea of government overreach alone.

Well if he invades Mexico he annexes all their jobs right? ;)

Point taken.
