POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

This is nonsense. We love each other and always will. They have an extreme immigration policy and Obama said he would take a bunch of the people they didn't want. Trump expressed his displeasure with this arrangement to their PM. They are awesome people and won't take much offense to it.

If they're that awesome perhaps we should start to emulate them. I say we start with their gun control policies. They take them from everyone there, not just the poors!

Trump tweets he will study 'dumb' refugee deal with Australia
'Dead inside': The refugees left in limbo by the Trump-Turnbull feud

I dunno. They don't sound thrilled.

The SMH is kind of a joke. We'll be fine.

I'd trade my guns for their weather and women in a heartbeat. If I ever did move to another country it would likely be there. The best people you could ever meet.

We'll be fine? What do you think happens when you create refugees and then won't take any? When you single out one single religion for your persecution? What exactly do you think radicalizes people in the United States exactly?

We'll be fine.

Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

some good news:

people have been contacting Chaffetz, and he has decided to withdraw HR 621

I am withdrawing HR 621. I'm a proud gun owner, hunter and love our public lands. The bill would have disposed of small parcels of lands Pres. Clinton identified as serving no public purpose but groups I support and care about fear it sends the wrong message. The bill was originally introduced several years ago. I look forward to working with you. I hear you and HR 621 dies tomorrow.

Is that the one where he asks for strip mining in every acre of National Park in Utah?

It's the one that directed the secretary of the interior to sell off over 3 million acres of federal land.

I think the one to loosen regulations on mining in national parks is still alive (for some western parks the federal government does not own the mineral rights, probably because they were carved out of federal land with active leases on mineral rights)

But it isnt about religion...even though Emperor Urea said it is so whatever.

Great. So, he makes himself look good taking the "safer" one off the table then slams home the one that destroys everything. Shocking.

Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

I wouldn't trust much from England or Australia, the people are wonderful but the media is complete rubbish.

When you judge a media based on them reporting facts that you don't agree with- well, most will be rubbish.

But that does not change the facts, nor does it change the consequences of the facts.

It is a fact that don and Turnbill had a heated discussion. How that does not have consequences is beyond me.

And noting that the local media points that out does not change it just because you think Aussies are incredible people with awesome potential.

Pretending that will not mean anything is pretty odd.

Both Mexico and Australia, despite heavy reporting, are downplaying the situation.

Politically, I understand. More can be done by phone calls by those behind the scenes than in public, but I kinda wish one or both would stand up and go "D*mn straight Trump p*ssed us off. Fu** him," and poke that Tang colored, toupee wearing milk bag with a giant stick.

How about the President's Tweet?

Do you believe it? The Obama Administration agreed to take thousands of illegal immigrants from Australia. Why? I will study this dumb deal!

Hard to report that wrong.

People really, honest-to-god cite Joe the Plumber? I thought that idea was just a joke among liberals. Are you going Onion on us, Flaggy?

Oh, I'm sure I could churn out some really good satire if I wanted to.

Not to mention both countries stand to gain bigly from the U.S. The deal with Australia is an awful one. I will say though I do feel bad for refugees who are basically stuck in purgatory.

I understand why you wouldn't upset Trump to his face. But as the balance of the world gets economically stronger, I don't know why you wouldn't work behind the scenes to strengthen ties with other countries. The US is too risky a trading partner to be the only basket for your eggs.

Where would you look instead?
