Its pretty clear that trix is one of the people who wants to blow Sanders, so I don't think you're going to convince him otherwise. It'd be like telling a devout parishioner that their religion is all wrong.
However, Sanders would have gotten crushed by Trump. He doesn't strike me as a man who handles criticism or scrutiny well, and if Chump was able to make hay over Hillary's time in DC (Sanders has been in Congress since like 1987 I think) and stamina for the job (Sanders is 95 IIRC, or at least he looks it), plus corruption (big payday for Bernie's wife from defunct college in Burlington) I can't see Bernie going toe to toe in a debate, let alone the whole campaign. Few people think tax rates of 90% on income is fair. Its great that people like Kep believe that, but show up with that kind of proposal and you'll hand the GOP a filibuster proof majority in the Senate while you're at it.
But the bottom line is lefty voters need to grow up. Run and vote your preferred candidates in the primaries in any race you can find. But, if your person loses, don't look for conspiracy theories that don't exist. Turn to the nominee who probably agrees with 80% of what you want and for the other 20% maybe you can convince them otherwise once in office. Lets say in 2020 Joe Manchin captures the nomination while Bernie and Warren split the vote. Do you A) support the guy because you know that he's on board with keeping and improving the ACA and against all the anti-immigrant and white supremacist actions coming out of the White House, B) Pick up your ball out of the sandbox and run home crying only to not vote or vote 3rd party to make yourself out as some kind of martyr, or C) Vote for Trump because hey, there's no different between Manchin and him right because they both want more coal energy so that trumps everything else.
Trump already is making a bet, and unfortunately he has uncanny political instincts. What Trump is betting is that he keeps his 62M voters more or less, and then sows the seeds of dissent on the Dem side with whoever the nominee is and hopes whiny Dems stay home. Frankly he might be right. As I often say, whenever some lefty loon goes off on a "Bernie got screwed" rant, somewhere Kellyanne Conway gets a big smile on her face...
