Except he's NOT days away from being arrested. trump is not getting arrested. He's not getting impeached. He's not going to resign. The sad fact is he's likely to be renominated by his party in 2020 to run for a second term because trump's brand of phony tough, racism and willful ignorance IS the republican party today. It might not be a majority of the American electorate, but they don't need a majority, just a majority in the right places.
If you can still call yourself a republican, or vote for a republican, at virtually any level today you are either in agreement with the kind of rhetoric spewed by trump and his fellow fascists and white supremacists, or you are hopelessly naive and deluded.
America right now is a house on fire. You don't save the house by containing the fire you save it by extinguishing it completely, as quickly as possible. We need to eradicate the republican party as it is currently constituted. It is a pathetic abomination. Once their standard bearer revealed himself to be a no questions asked dyed in the wool white supremacist the idea that a few tweets or facebook postings would be enough to distance yourself from him evaporated. If you call yourself a republican and expect to deserve a vote, you must take action to remove trump. And until that happens, you must not vote with him. He must be neutered and rendered completely impotent. I consider anything less than this unacceptable and bordering on treason. You must show me you love America and our constitution from the first word of the preamble to the last word of the 27th amendment far more than you love your so-called political party.
