POTUS 45.15 - Now With More Yacht Banging Stories!

Re: POTUS 45.15 - Now With More Yacht Banging Stories!

No you are right...problem is none of the numbers can be trusted because the methods by which they gathered them were flawed.

I think we learned that they were off as a matter of degree. That his numbers went down rather than up is a different matter, isn't it? Serious question--I'm no statistician.

Re: POTUS 45.15 - Now With More Yacht Banging Stories!

Uday and Qusay have Priced the Secret Service out of Trump Tower in NYC :
The Trump Organization wanted more money for the command space that the Secret Service uses to protect the president’s home and the two could not agree. Now, the president’s security detail has moved out.
According to the report, the Secret Service relocated its central operations 50 floors down in early June. The command station is now a trailer on the sidewalk.

Secret Service officials told the Post on Thursday that they were still holding out hope of reaching a deal to move back into the tower. But Trump Organization spokeswoman Amanda Miller told reporters that “it was mutually determined that it would be more cost effective and logistically practical for the Secret Service to lease space elsewhere.”

Me too. That will go over really well with his followers who live hand-to-mouth.

Kep needs to stop projecting his feelings on the populace since HE is the minority here and far from mainstream :)

Not saying kep's ideals are wrong- just that they are not embraced by even a marginal percentage ;)

Do you really think that the people who chose not to vote would have come out in droves for Bernie? If that was the case why didnt they do so during the Primaries? Bernie's numbers with minorities were weak as hell and the only states he did well in were caucus states. He lost every major primary...but somehow he was going to inspire people to vote for him in the General? Please the logic is ridiculous on its face and the math doesnt add up. Bernie ran about as perfect a grass roots campaign as you can, he raised money up the wazoo and he didnt even make a dent when it comes to delegates.

And again, many Democrats have issues with supporting anything labelled socialism. (the label works...ask around) It isnt about "spinning" it is about actual perception. You and Kepler can live in a world of hypotheticals all you want but in the real world Bernie gets killed. He is one of my favorite politicians, someone I identify with on the spectrum to an alarmingly high rate so it isnt like I am some Blue Dog DINO. Bernie was too old, too left and too vague to have a chance. Hell he won Minnesota and the Teachers Union here still backed Hillary. (I worked the rally I wanted to punch them)

Biden was past his prime. Dems dont like voting old they prefer young and inspirational. The demographics for Biden would have killed him and there is again zero evidence people in Pennsylvania, WI or Michigan would have decided to not be lazy *****s if he was the nominee. If there was any evidence of that he would have jumped in the race when it was obvious neither Bernie nor Hillary had the juice to walk away with it. He polls well with Dems but he is the QB that is on the bench that everyone swears is the difference between going 6-10 and going 10-6 without any proof.

Dems don't like old?

So it was between Bernie who's in his 80s? And hilly who is almost 70?

Those two are old!!!

Re: POTUS 45.15 - Now With More Yacht Banging Stories!

Too general. We need one that has things more specific to the time. Stuff like Meuller is in cahoots with the evil Dems, someone falls on their sword, has a rant like the Mooch, gets fired and goes nuts, S. Huckabee lies... well that should probably be the star in the center. She lies every day. There is the ever present Benghazi!!!, but Hillary and but Obama!!!, tweetts about Russia, tweets about various cabinet members.....

Either laugh or sob. so embarassing

BINGO!!! just watched a bit of the news- THe emails, the evil empire, the Clintons, and Russia. If I use Huckabee in the middle I win!

Senate just took a procedural vote to keep the Senate 'in session' when they are out to prevent any intersession appts. (Using wrong words but you know what I mean). Alaska GOP Sen gets the last laugh- she spearheaded it.

Sorry but that isnt true. That is like the BS about how we should vote because people died for our right to vote...wrong they died for our right NOT to vote.

Here's what I've been told in this thread so far, in relation to my not voting this year:

1. I helped Trump win by not voting. In a state that hasn't voted for a R candidate since '72.
2. I am a terrible person for not voting (I bet many of my critics don't vote at a local level, btw)*
3. I should vote for (I) because that helps build new parties.
4. I shouldn't vote for (I) because there are only really 2 choices, so don't waste my vote.

*I mean every election since my critics came to the conclusion that voting is basically a requirement of a citizen. And not just voting, but knowing SOMETHING about each candidate to sway their vote. An ignorant vote is more damaging than a non-vote, IMO.

So we know Trump recently expressed frustration that the US is still in Afghanistan. We also know that McMaster has been successfully taking out the alt-Reich trash on the NSC, and has contradicted Trump on multiple occasions in the past couple of months. Now, Trump is reportedly thinking about replacing Nicholson with McMaster as commander of US forces in Afghanistan, thereby sending him half a world away. I wonder if Bannon is whispering that into his ear...

I have no idea on some of these news sources. A trusted friend (one who is not prone to hoaxes or biased crap) told me about this. This is surreal:

http://www.thedailybeast.com/report...p-tower-after-dispute-with-trump-organization
I linked to the Gizmodo article referencing the same Post story.

The kicker, in my opinion, was how Trump billed the government for his protection:
Taxpayers are getting beaten up by Trump’s security costs in many ways. In May, New York City’s payout for protecting the tower was estimated to be $308,000 per day. The military also has a command post in the tower that costs $130,000 a month. During the campaign, Trump flew everywhere on his own private plane. In September, he billed the Secret Service $1.6 million for their seats on the plane. While the government traditionally reimburses campaign travel costs for its security, Trump was in a unique position to directly profit.
The other scumbag move was using the new found Secret Service protection as a fu**ing marketing campaign to jack up rent in the building:
In December, Politico reported that Trump Tower was being advertised as “The Best Value in the Most Secure Building in Manhattan,” and the Secret Service was listed as a “new amenity.”

in a normal election cycle, go ahead and vote 3rd party, or don't vote. I don't really give a s h i t. This was not normal. We tried to tell you "Anyone but Clinton" people what kind of disaster Donald Trump would be, and you just laughed us off.

You aren't the only Brent out there and they don't all live in MN. They gave the election to Trump.

Re: POTUS 45.15 - Now With More Yacht Banging Stories!

That half was gonna vote for Trump anyhow so who cares? And yeah they can try and spin him as a communist but it's not that hard to retort that we used to have the much higher taxes on the rich and the country was better off for it. Most dem voters will understand.

I think a lot of people are still living in the 80s when if you whispered "socialist" it was stick a fork in him, he's done.

Reasons I think that has changed:

1. Going to the well too often. Because that was true, Republicans went to that card every time: they have screamed that every Democrat is a socialist since Mondale. Its effect has worn down.

2. Confusion of intensity and size. This is your point, above. Yes, 40% of the nation is pinwheel-eyed insane about socialism, but that 40% are lockstep Republican voters. They are meaningless; we will never reach them. Our job is to reach the other 60%.

3. Pragmatism. You don't run on a socialist platform in America by calling it socialism, you run by talking about social security and Medicare and how those programs have made life so much better for so many people. There are ideologues on each tail but most Americans are pragmatists: they'll experiment with solutions that can plausibly work. That in fact is how the supply side camel got its nose in the tent: it seemed plausible. After a 30-year trial of course it's exposed as bogus. Our problem is we never yell "repeal and replace" about the warping of the tax code since 1980.

4. Anger. People are f-cking angry. They resent the rich because they should. They know they're being f-cked without lube by the ruling class. They are starting to catch on that the ruling class controls not just the GOP but a big chunk of the Democratic party as well. The evil face of this anger is social populism and the racism and xenophobia of the Trumpies. The good face is economic populism and the will to restore a deeply progressive tax structure and restart inter-generational mobility based on merit. America is, at heart, a meritocracy, and the Trump family is now the public face of the ineptitude and injustice of trickle down.

Saying this is just being ignorant of the trend lines. Hillary didn't win by a ton. Minnesota was in play far longer than it had been for a while. Both Houses in the State are Red. Franken barely won his first race when he ran against a corrupt sniveling whiny little man.

The facts are many Americans (myself included) sounded the alarm bells and warned many many many people that Trump could win. We were not believed. We were shunned. We were ridiculed. And look at what we have now. Just take a nice long deep breath and look. And it's not going to get better. It's going to get worse. Given Trump's speech last night Kelly has done nothing to reign him in. NOTHING.

In a campaign-style rally in West Virginia on Thursday night, Trump not only leaned into his previous attacks on the Russia investigation but took them even a step farther.
He referred to the "totally made-up Russia story." He called it a "total fabrication." He insisted Democrats are behind the whole thing because they are looking for "an excuse for the greatest loss in the history of American politics." He argued that "what the prosecutors should be looking at are Hillary Clinton's 33,000 deleted emails." He made the totally specious argument that no Russians were in the crowd to suggest he couldn't have won the election because of Russia. He mocked Democrats' electoral results, telling them "try winning at the voter booth."

And then, Trump said this:
"They can't beat us at the voting booths, so they're trying to cheat you out of the future and the future that you want. They're trying to cheat you out of the leadership you want with a fake story that is demeaning to all of us, and most importantly, demeaning to our country and demeaning to our Constitution."

Re: POTUS 45.15 - Now With More Yacht Banging Stories!

The idea that dump is taking a turn to try to send his political opponent in jail is a bad turn. This is happening in other countries that are turning away from democracy. As well as the attacks on the press that publish bad things about the leader. It goes right along the idea that he would not accept the election results had he lost.

How R's are not alarmed by these moves is beyond me.

But when our resident anti-globalist has no real concern about russia even being involved in our election in a tangential way- well, that says a lot.

How did we get SO into being ideologs that it's about the party over the country? So much for being great again.

Nor am I...nor do I want to be ;)

The problem is the numbers only show so much. They didnt account for the fact that many people wouldnt admit they voted for Trump (especially during his many gaffes during the campaign) out of shame or fear so they lied. It is the same thing now which is why I am skeptical of the numbers. On one hand you have him polling at historic lows, but on the other hand amongst Republicans he is polling in the upper 80s percentage-wise. That doesnt add up since Republicans make up more than 37% of the population.

I didn't laugh you off, so you can end that POV of me. Trump was and is a joke.

Correct. All polling is now worthless. The age of Trump and Bannon has destroyed that as well.
