POTUS 45.12: Dan, does it take courage when encountering the covfefe?

Re: POTUS 45.12: Dan, does it take courage when encountering the covfefe?

Of course the previous vetting was fine and the 'terrorists' are all home grown but why should logic enter into it?

Dr. Mrs. is actually part of the oversight to the vetting. The short answer is the vetting is fine. The long answer is this is about riling up the apes and forcing Court decisions which either go their way or even better thwart them, so they can wave the bloody shirt and tub thump.

It's pure politics. It has nothing to do with national security. It's actually not even intended as hating on the Muslims, they're just a tool to hand for the right to whip up their base into hysteria.

What? No.
Trump hates dem Mooselimbs like Ohbammer. I heards it on the tee-vee. ;)

This couldn't possibly be a partisan talisman to waive at the minions.

Trump probably does hate the Mooslims, he's that kind of idiot. But Trump himself has nothing to do with policy, he's a teething baby just slobbering all over the levers of government.

But the (sociopathic) adults in the room realize anything that gets the peasants up in arms will increase their chance of forcing through their tax cuts.

This is about raiding the public treasury. That's all that is behind any GOP action. Everything else, from racism to "fiscal conservatism" to sexism to "states rights" to homophobia to isolationism to militarism to "small government" to "Constitutionalism," is just to further that aim.

They are not zealots, they are thieves.

If the injunction stopped all work, then his administration is asinine. It stopped the ban part, not the review.

Really. why would an injunction of a travel ban stop work studying, researching, and implementing stronger immigration screening and vetting systems?

Re: POTUS 45.12: Dan, does it take courage when encountering the covfefe?

John Dean is right about trump. But he's wrong about this:

In business and politics, and now in government, Trump is operating at about the level of a precocious eight grader. The games he has played in the past are not going to work in the league he now finds himself. Mueller and Company are sophisticated and experienced federal prosecutors who have dealt with miscreants far more sophisticated and clever than Donald Trump. In fact, in the end Trump’s tactics, which are obvious and recorded, will be used against him. His lawyers seem unable to stop him, but they have surely told him.

So many thought his tactics wouldn't work during the primaries. Then during the general. Yet he was the nominee. And now he is the president. The simple sad fact is he is not going away. There isn't a single republican in the house or senate who will stand up and be an American. And I'm starting to have a pretty secure feeling the democrats are not going to do anything at all that they need to do to position themselves to win in 2018. I think as it stands now we might figure out a way to defeat him in 2020. If we're still a democracy. And of course the republicans don't succeed even further in voter suppression or the Russians don't actually learn how to manipulate the vote. Of course they may already have.

There was a This American Life on the current vetting process. Seemed pretty **** extreme to me as it is.

But Xtreme Vetting [SUP]TM[/SUP] makes it seem like we currently just ask for their name and give them a green card.

I will take a stab at this...

The wording of the law, and following rulings of the courts, continue to change on how to go about the screenings/etc, as to what would be legal, acceptable in the PR department, etc etc. This is just a wild arse guess.

It's always about riling up the apes, who then cause our snowflakes to melt on their face, which results in hollering from the apes about "liberal fascism".

Why can't more Dem pols conjur up a fcking blizzard when it comes time to vote?

Can you say fat and happy as opposed to folks who have lost their chances at middle class.

Re: POTUS 45.12: Dan, does it take courage when encountering the covfefe?

So Trump happily embraces a "9-0" SCOTUS ruling in favor of a heavily neutered and ammended travel ban, and claims a resounding victory on Twitter?

Even the captain of the USS Abraham Lincoln would be embarrassed to unfurl the "Mission Accomplished" banner for Trump for this.

Also, Trump is so worried about CNN's ratings, he seemed to have forgotten about conferring with his military or intelligence departments about Assad. Oh right, he was likely watching a TiVo'd old O'Reilly episode.

Famed Anti-Tax advocate Grover Norquist got absolutely torched yesterday on Twitter for being a complete sh**head towards his own daughter.

Grover makes a strong argument. There are no benefits from taxes.

Re: POTUS 45.12: Dan, does it take courage when encountering the covfefe?

When the 99% eventually find their balls enough to reverse the 1980 (and 1964) tax cuts, I want Grover Norquist as the face of the minarchist boneheads.

He combines the likability of Newt Gingrich with the political savvy of Rick Santorum.

It doesnt matter if it is neutered, the SC let him have a ban for now. It may be a hollow victory but every president would be playing it up. Basic politics.

I'm not sure every president would be constantly going back to "the Russia thing," thus reminding the public of it when he desperately wants them to forget it.

He's not wanting them to forget it. He's wanting them to see the man behind the curtain that is creating the lie.
