Couldn't be in DC or St Paul so I marched in Madison today. It was amazing. There had to be 30,000+ there. State Street was full shoulder-to-shoulder from the capitol back over a mile away. The capitol grounds were absolutely packed.

Makes me wonder where all these people were in November when it actually mattered. How the Fark 52% of white women voted for Trump still boggles my mind.

There's been a lot of focus on organizing and voting and running for office at these rallies. I get sentiment but this is more about fighting back,

I think part of that is it was the rural vote that elected Trump. The cities overwhelmingly voted Clinton.

Correct. It was pretty much middle America that the Dems ignored, while chasing the minority/women/specialty vote. Basically, the lunchbox crowd voted Trump in.

No, the election was decided mostly by people staying home. Vote totals were down in a lot of areas. Plenty of people just couldn't stand either candidate.

I'm talking about who actually voted.

I agree voting was down because both major candidates are piles of crap. They just smelled different from each other. ;)

They should've fought back in November. The wake-up call should've been two years ago. Sorry, but this strikes me as closing the barn door after the horses have already left.

I heard yesterday during the planning of the Women's marches that the big question is "What's next?" What is the next step to this movement?


Also, I think we found which era Trump was emulate in his "Make America Great Again" rhetoric: anything prior to 1919.

B***hing about things isn't gonna fix the hole we've dug ourselves into, and the main reason we got 8 years of W instead of 4. This is the type of stuff that can lead to taking back power. Like I've said, this is is a war, and it's time to fight back!
