Playoff Results 2021

Were the penalties the led to the 5-on-3 goal infractions that had to be called?

That is one of my complaints with much of the officiating in women's hockey; they don't have a feel for when to make a call or not. Sometimes, they'll go 50 minutes w/o calling anything, and then they will rattle off two borderline calls against the same team back-to-back. Often, yes, there is an infraction that can be called, but it doesn't look much different from the dozen other plays that went uncalled.

Not that anyone expected otherwise, but line charts are posted, and both Schepers and Saekkinen are listed. No surprises anywhere.

I didn't see the second one on Duluth all that well, but it looked to me like a mutual hold-interference drag-down to the ice. I was expecting matching minors when they stopped play.

3rd period there was a ton of hits and interference that could have been called.

So with all the talk about refs, and a WCHA game ahead, what are the chances we see Eeyore's favorite guy, Robert Ludwig come skating out onto the ice?

:-)

I just read the past 3 pages to catch up on your game comments (thanks to Lindsay)....I’m with A.J.and thought the penalty calls evened out! Frankel had only herself to blame on UMD first goal and ARM made the point on the turnover on the winner.
If you saw the video of UMD Coach pregame, she explicitly said to go all out!! It was obvious that they would tire by the game’s end....remember how the Patriots exhausted the Chiefs for the AFC championship? Add in the emotions of the NCAA’s....
I have to say that the reference by Flint regarding the speed after the first was telling about what we all know about the regular season for the WCHA and HE....although Clarkson seemed to solve that riddle!
#2 on the way!

Buckeyes aren’t taken what’s given to them...trying to force too many passes, skate thru the check....watching the Badgers is like watching the US squad....very disciplined to their system

Both color commentators have referenced Kennedy Blair’s four years at Hurst. As we know she did 3 there. They are missing the storyline of her UND year and the Badgers taking all the UND goalies. I was thinking, she is probably the last active player from that program. Wonder if she will play next year.

Watts was that...Yuckeye given a gift and misses the net!
They had one other Grade-A chance and it looked like the puck was on end and she didn't get all of it. Against UW, they often start to clean it up as the game goes along, and you look back and the first-period chances were the best you were going to get. Although Blair did turn one save into a bit of an adventure had a Buckeye been in the neighborhood.

I hope it doesn't come down to one team got a bounce and that's the difference in the game.

You are correct. She made it one more game than Rice for Providence.

This feels like a 3-2 game. Don’t know that these goalies can keep holding off the two offenses.
