I am all for talk, agree or disagree (well intelligent that makes some sense). Even people like Fishman can create a good conversation piece. Nor do I care if you want to call me an A*****E to my face (errr post), but when you have to go anonymous it just gives you a good chuckle. There isn't a thing on here I've said that I wouldn't say to someone's face. Ask Princess Avery from Geneseo from years past.
and for what its worth, a penalty never causes a team a game (last I checked you still have to score a goal and therefor defend a goal), but a penalty can cause a momentum swing. Could the 5 minute major penalty, that IMO should have been called, given Plattsburgh a win? Heck no. For all we know Norwich kills it off and goes on to score 4 more anyways. Does Norwich not get that late 2nd period PP if Plattsburgh gets that 5 minute major call? Probably not. Do they go into the 3rd period tied? Probably not. Fact is Plattsburgh didn't get the 5 minute major call, got called soon after for their own "boarding" call, and the rest is history. No one is claiming the penalties put a goal on the board for Norwich. Momentum swing? You bet. Were calls missed both ways? Of course its hockey. I'm not sure I saw a blatant knee call missed on Plattsburgh however, but I wasn't really looking. That's kind of like arguing how the better team doesn't always win.....
As far as the Pelletier's "gloating", McShane may have ripped him a new one post game, but in 25+ years watching Bob I can GUARANTEE you had that been him Pelletier would NOT have been sitting on that bench. Why do I guarantee it? Because I've seen in. Trash talking to the crowd, ruffling the jersey to the crowd, jumping at the glass, sorry but not a big deal. When you deliberately skate by the opposing bench and continue to talk smack, and from what I was told was not the first time in the game things of such happened you're going to get that D.H. (use your imagination) name attached to you. What was said between the coaches in between them, but it was well documented on some of the feelings towards McShane after his "teaching experience" last season against Plattsburgh late in the game. I highly doubt there was a hit out on Pelletier as far as to go "if you see him grab his head and take him down in a scrum". That being said, in a game like Plattsburgh/Norwich with Norwich needing this game much much more than Plattsburgh, the emotion of the game was more than enough for the heated "celebrations" alone.
