Plattsburgh State Hockey 2015-16 - Bob's 27th work in progress ...

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2015-16 - Bob's 27th work in progress ...

After seeing the jerseys Plattsburgh is wearing tonight I almost wish they would video broadcast the first game and skip the Plattsburgh game.....

They look even uglier on the broadcast... Someone thought these looked good and would sell???

Well, the vast majority of them sold for the minimum of $100, and only one went above $200 (Finney, who didn't even play tonight, went for $225). All eventually were sold. One guy, who I'm told works for W.B. Mason (the sponsors of the tournament), bought 7 of them... and some of those were the ones that didn't just go for the minimum bid.

In the spirit of doing something for a great cause, there is the Farley-Kluger Initiative to Add Loss of a Child to the 1993 Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). The well intentioned FMLA nevertheless has its faults, and this is an initiative to help fix one of them. It cost nothing to support it, and Change.ORG is very good a protecting your the information required to add your support. As of 1/2/16, it is only 84 signatures away from its goal. Please take a couple minutes and lend your support -

Good weekend back for the boys. Colby proved to be the better opponent with a very defensive style. Good to pick up the tournament win at home. A lot of hard work! Now on to Northfield to play the Cadets! Go Cards!!

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2015-16 - Bob's 27th work in progress ...

Both teams had their stretches of superiority in the 1st and 2nd, and probably deserved to be tied going into the 2nd Intermission. But Norwich really showed up for the 3rd and took it to the Cards. Were there some "iffy" calls? Sure, there always are. There were also some clear penalties against both teams that DIDN'T get called. Bottom line is, Norwich hit another gear in the third period , and Plattsburgh just didn't match it. There's a lesson to be learned there.

As for William Pelletier, he's a top-class asswipe. Yes, there was some less-than-classy nonsense all game (most of it in the form of Norwich players taking exception to Plattsburgh defenders standing between them and Rouleau to protect the goalie after the whistle). But his little visit to the Plattsburgh bench was over the top, and he's lucky the Cardinals didn't do what I would have been very tempted to do: jump off the bench to try to rip the guy's head off. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Pelletier was also the player who, in the second period, stickhandled the puck a few times while coasting after the whistle and THEN popped a wristshot into Rouleau (which the refs didn't see because it was simultaneous to one of several simultaneous-minor situations just in front of the crease). Can't say I'm surprised. Credit to McShane for being an excellent coach of the game of hockey, but shame on him for continuing to be a terrible coach of respectable young men.

Guys, what are you so mad about. This is McShane, it was just a teaching moment, you know kind of like pulling your goalie down by 4 with less than a minute to go. ...

With all due respect to Mr McShane, crap such as this is ALWAYS a direct reflection on a coach.
Such a shame too because McShane runs a great program otherwise.
And one other comment re Norwich: They sure have a lot of brass charging $ 11.00 for a single ticket. And I thought that PSUC charged a lot for a ticket. Oh well.

This was indeed a show of disrespect by this player to the visiting team. I expect more from a quality program. Coach Emery would not tolerate any such behavior by anyone under his watch.
