I think that the pep band adds a great deal to the home game experience. In the same vein, I hope the guy with the bagpipes comes back as well.

Yes - Geneseo does have a great pep band for all home games (except the break games) and they travel for "close" road games - most notably Brockport. When I was on the radio the Genny Pep Band traveled to Fredonia as Fredonia's pep band would come to Geneseo so there was a pep band rivalry as well as the on ice rivalry, but the Fredonia pep band hasn't been to Geneseo in 4 years at least. Actually a couple years ago I went to a Fredonia game and Fredonia didn't appear to have a pep band anymore. Maybe just a random game they missed or it fell apart with certain graduations. I actually went to the Geneseo at Cortland game last year and about 15 Geneseo pep band people were there and would just sing the songs as they didn't bring their instruments (probably too cold in there anyway.)

After 1 period of play:

Red 3 (Gorman, Yeo, Gorman)
White 3 (Kaye, Fox, Botting)

1-0 Gorman opened the scoring with a bouncing puck while Creech was on his back trying to get back up.
2-0 Yeo doubles the lead with a close-range shot that just barely trickled through Creech's 5-hole
2-1 Kaye cuts the deficit with a snipe from just inside the blue line on Cadieux
3-1 Gorman regains the 2-goal advantage with a Penalty Shot on Foley
3-2 Fox steals the puck at the faceoff dot and puts it up high on Cadieux
3-3 Botting ties it up with a snipe on Cadieux from the blueline after dragging the foot to just stay onside.

Yeo, Mason, and Creech were the standouts among freshmen in the 1st period, with Kaye and Botting both looking to be the surprising stars among returners.

Well I sure hope he is playing D. Otherwise, there are 7 D-men listed on the roster, including two freshmen (Patterson and Hermans). I've heard some good stuff about Patterson, but Hermans is an unknown to me. I don't know how comfortable I'd feel going into the season with the 7 D listed. Besides, it's not like Plattsburgh is struggling at the forward positions.

Here's my opening night roster with scratches in parentheses....without regard to players suspended:

Goal: Cadieux, Creech, Foley

Defense: Beadow, N.Jensen, Hermans, Roytman, Calabrese, Kaye (Botting,Patterson)....close between Calabrese, Kaye & Botting.

Forwards: Gorman, Emmerling, Fox, Baleshta, A.Jensen, Constantine, Brenton, Cassidy, Mason, Yeo, Radisa & Farnan

(Popp, Scuglia, Hall, Koerner)

Seems like every year when the season starts that Emery has a few guys suspended for one reason or another.... I do know that one of his rules is if you miss a class you miss a game. this goes for after the season is done as well....

not a bad rule, and if u miss to many classes,your not going to pass your classes and will not be aloud to play anyway...as for the injuries hope there not to bad.

I like what I've seen of Hermans. In practice and last night, thought he looks good!
