Chemistry is another big factor and I do think they have it. As for the new leadership, I'm sure someone will step up. Can't agree more. I hope this is a good one for the boys in RED!!

There is pressure to win in Plattsburgh every year. I don't think there is any added pressure this year. Presumably, that's why these kids come to Plattsburgh. The Cardinals don't play for just making the NCAA tournament...

I would say it's a team poised to win THIS year only because of Cadieux. He is a goalie who can win games that the rest of the team is outplayed. You never know when you're going to get a guy like that again. Of course the team expects to win a lot every year, but let's face it, certain years look better than others. Factor in the semi-rebuilding in Oswego and Norwich as well.

In my mind, this team looks ready to win as much as any team we've had since the ill-fated '08-09 team. That team had it all and then some. Only a shockingly poor game by our goalie against a red hot team with questionable financial aid practices prevented it.

I loved Carburs when I was living in Plattsburgh, has the Five Guys Opened yet? You will love the fries. But I do think McSweeny's home fries are wonderful and wish I could get some sauce here in Atlanta. Ok back to hockey and I agree this year's Plattsburgh team should do very well.

They are building Five Guys as we type.... they tore down Mangia's to build it to their specs.

They planned to expand the existing building, until NYS Dept of Transportation argued that they were moving too close to the I87 On-ramp. Instead, they decided to demolish the existing building and rebuild, and managed to avoid having to be re-approved by the Town Planning Board by using the exact same footprint as the existing building, not a square inch larger or smaller.

The article in the Press Republican a couple weeks ago said that the plan was to be open some time in October.

Plus a Bullafo Wild Wings and Chipoltes... this place is hopping right now! Only problem is that the "campers" in the Wal-Mart parking lot lost some of their valuable real estate!

I still do not I understand why they are allowed to stay there. There are signs all over the lot that say no camping and it continues. If they do not en force this regulation, how can they enforce any? Eg. Fire lane parking, double parking or parking in a handicap place without permit. Sounds like "Selective Enforcement"

No more Mangia's!?? I think I was the only one in Plattsburgh (when I was there) who loved that place!! Hence, why they tore it down I guess...

Well, fire lane and handicap parking are most likely local and state laws, whereas the camping issue is in a privately owned lot, and up to the mall to enforce that.

What has to be considered the biggest advantage of this year is the fact that our top two eastern rivals, Norwich and Oswego are certainly to be in rebuilding years. Norwich has all their defense returning, but has their top 5 forwards all graduating. Oswego meanwhile had 14 seniors on last years team. If it was anyone else I'd say, good luck. Meanwhile losing Leis and some others will hurt, but we should have an older, experienced team.

We play some good teams, Geneseo will be good again. middlebury/williams and castleton will also be tough. Honestly, I think everyone else we should be able to steam roll unless things fall apart.
