Plattsburgh State Hockey 13-14 Season 25

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 13-14 Season 25

It could be worse... At least we know we're in 2nd place. Over on the women's side of things, Plattsburgh and Elmira are tied on points and are even in all 4 tie-breakers. They'll be deciding who hosts the ECAC-W Semis & Finals with the flip of a coin.

They'll be Regular Season co-champions, of course.

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 13-14 Season 25

Sorry norm, it is 100% ran by the students. NSN is by itself. My brother produced cardinal hockey all last year. As for the announcer, his name is mike warren

PSTV might be producing something, but the on-line "tele-cast" are NSN - I purchased the 2013-14 entire season on DVD from and by NSN and did not deal with any students, so it is NOT 100% ran by the students.

Cardinal teams ready for postseason play {Article courtesy of the Plattsburgh Press Republican 2/24/2014}

Plattsburgh State will be represented on four playoff fronts next weekend with at least one of the tournaments scheduled for Cardinal Country.

The women’s basketball team, by virtue of its historic first-place finish in the State University of New York Athletic Conference regular season, will host the semifinals and final Friday and Saturday at Memorial Hall. The Cardinals (15-3, 20-5, over all) won the season crown for the first time in their history.

The semifinals are scheduled for Friday with second-seeded Buffalo State taking on the Geneseo-Fredonia winner from Tuesday at 6 p.m., followed by No. 1 seed Plattsburgh State battling either Oneonta or Cortland at 8. Geneseo and Oneonta will host Tuesday’s quarterfinal games.

The championship contest is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday.

The men’s basketball team (15-3, 21-4) finished second to Brockport in the standings with the Golden Eagles earning the right to host the SUNYAC tourney next weekend.

Plattsburgh will face either Geneseo or Oneonta in the 6 p.m. semifinal on Friday with Brockport opposing Oswego or Cortland in the 8 p.m. contest. Geneseo and Oswego will host Tuesday’s quarterfinal encounters.

The championship game is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday.

The conference tournaments carry automatic NCAA berths as spoils; however, both Plattsburgh State basketball teams will draw serious consideration for at-large bids if they come up short next weekend.

The men’s ice hockey team (12-2-2, 19-4-2) will host a semifinal game at 7 p.m. Saturday at Stafford Arena, against the second lowest remaining seed. Buffalo State (4) entertains Brockport (5) while Oswego (3) hosts Fredonia (6) on Tuesday in quarterfinal action.

Geneseo, the regular-season champ and top seed, will draw the lowest remaining seed in the other semifinal Saturday.

The championship game, with an automatic NCAA berth at stake, will be held Saturday, March 8, on the home ice of the highest surviving seed.

The women’s hockey team (15-1, 23-1-1) finished in a tie for first with Elmira College in ECAC West and could end up hosting the semifinals and final next weekend. The host site will be determined today by a coin flip.

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 13-14 Season 25

Time to look at what the Cardinals need to happen this weekend and going forward on the road to Lewiston. The following is in the event that we win our game vs. Oswego Saturday night.....but lose the SUNYAC Final. The other scenarios are clear-cut. If we lose Saturday night against the Lakers we are likely done. If we win both games , we're in regardless. So here's what I'm pulling for:

NESCAC - We need Trinity to sweep through their tournament. A loss by them probably chews up a Pool C spot

ECAC EAST - Preferably have Norwich win it. We would beat out Babson, Boston on criteria.

MIAC - We need St. Thomas to sweep through their tournament. They beat us in criteria so that would also be a Pool C spot if they lose (in their finals).

NCHA - We need either St. Norbert OR Adrian to win that tournament. I think that's very likely.
