Patty Kaz

Re: Patty Kaz

Maybe at the school you root for, but not at a real school.

I had a 2.7, although I was a math major and the realm of pure mathematics (vs. applied) kicked my *** lol

I took two 600 level (ie grad level) math classes my senior year (Calculus of N-dimensional Manifolds), and I don't know if it was 'senioritis' or if I had just hit the wall with regard to my math abilities, but they KICKED MY BUTT. No, I did not get a B. I also didn't go on to grad school.

Re: Patty Kaz

I seem to recall you in that class, you were the one with the brown nose, but you didn't do it right and got a D-

so you gonna go crying to the mods?

OMG, maybe the mod will ban me!!

No, I'm sticking with my original statement, Tiley for the win, most of the rest are IMO not even eligible for the award due to academics.

"Selection criteria includes outstanding individual and team skills, sportsmanship, performance in the clutch, personal character, competitiveness and a love of hockey. Consideration is also given to academic achievement and civic involvement."

If I had had a vote, Clarkson's #35 would have gotten it. Might be a little late though for her to win. Hope this entry doesn't get me banned from the forum (guilt by association?).

Not even close when you consider what DW has achieved in her first year at BC. It is not even debatable. If not DW, then Gable would be the next obvious choice for what she accomplished this year.

Re: Patty Kaz

Gabel's play for Clarkson this year has been fantastic. The best in the program history from a statistics standpoint. But even I just don't see her winning with the season Watt's had.

Re: Patty Kaz

Do we know who the committee is and who they vote for or is it not like that? Gonna go look for this USCHO article that is being referenced.

DW is a freshman; that's working against her. It also doesn't help that she plays in a conference full of cupcakes. I think Gabel's numbers are close enough to her's, she's leading the #1 team in the country, and she's played much better competition all season. I'd be very surprised if Gabel doesn't win.

Why does the Kaz award have "performance in the clutch" as a factor but then vote before play-offs?

As some Cornell goalie once said (not Dryden BTW), it's just one game. The PK is for a whole season's body of work and Daryl Watts had one heck of a season.

That being said - Gabel was robbed!!! :)

Re: Patty Kaz

Watts is cooked then.

So Watts and Campbell are out then. Too bad.

Bach's done more with less, she's the winner.

why do they have academic achievement as a factor and then ignore it?
Let it go. If you want an award for GPA, start one yourself. Just because something is "a factor" doesn't mean it's "the only thing considered." But as is always the case, you know this, you're just trolling.

This is an award for the top player. The top player won the award. Sorry it bothers you so much, snowflake <3

Anyway, this doesn't even come close to making up for missing the FF, but it does mean the future is BRIGHT up in Chestnut Hill.
