Pats select Jermaine Cunningham, a DE from Florida, at 53.
Mayock projects him as an OLB with NE.

Feeling okay about the second round. Would like to see a WR and RB with the two thirds, though DE wouldn't be out of line either.
I agree and I was thinking they might try to package the two thirds to move up to the top of the third round. It would have worked out in the draft value chart. But they didn't.Not sure where they draw the line on likely to make the team...do they package any of the remaining to try to grab a need early in the third vs. picking a bunch later in the draft?
Andre Roberts of The Citadel has been getting some buzz on NE message boards over the last week, so I'm going to say him and Everson Griffen or a RB (don't have a favorite there) at 89 and 90.
HALF-FULL RECAP: Pats get top-five CB in DB-heavy draft, No. 2 TE, nasty ILB, promising DE/OLB and flyer at WR. Needs? Addressed.
HALF-EMPTY RECAP: Pats get good CB, damaged TE, underachieving OLB, slow-footed ILB and marginal wideout when better ones were out there.
Patriots called Everson Griffen

We have a clue what Patriots may want to do with their fourth-round pick tomorrow.
NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that the Patriots had USC defensive end Everson Griffen on the phone and they were planning to select him before the Panthers swooped in and made a trade offer the Patriots couldn't refuse.
New England had two consecutive picks, so they traded the No. 89 overall pick to Carolina, then drafted Ohio wide receiver Taylor Price with the No. 90 overall pick.
The Patriots' next selection is the fifteenth pick of the fourth round. If any other team wants Griffen, we suggest trading in front of New England.
