So even when the women play safe they make a terrible shot and gift China one point.

I am wondering if people actually know what a cougar really is. The term has been co-opted to the point that I think everyone has actually forgotten.

And now Pottinger has to play for 1 after an awesome shot by China.

Why does it seem like everyone else can hit these insane shots and we can't even hit the easy shots.

I think the main reason is because both the US men's and women's teams had some bad shots at the start of the tournament, and now it is all mental. They're capable of making the shots, but the game is in their head and they just can't get past it. The best comparison I can think of is when a good golfer goes out and misses 3 foot birdie putts on the first 2 holes, and then can't putt the rest of the round. In the back of their minds, they thinking about that last shot that they missed...

China with an easy shot to win, and they convert easily.

To be honest, the whistle was late. Hiller had frozen the puck and then the guy kept whacking at it. The ref couldn't see it and then he blew it 2-3 seconds after it was in the net.

And it was an NHL official, it was Devorski.

Sven Krammer (sp) of the Netherlands had the best time by over 4 seconds in the Men's 10k meter skating event, but gets DQed because he lost track of which lane he was in and missed a cross-over....

I can only imagine how peeved he is right now...

Little known fact: the Norwegian military exists only for the express purpose of training biathletes.

I only saw the final 5 minutes of the 3rd and now OT.
I read that Hiller gave up an easy one just a minute into the game.
