US gets the #1 seed, and is away from Canada/Russia!

Re: Part III of the XXIst Winter Olympiad Or how I Learned to Stop Worryng & Love Curling

I heard on ESPN Radio tonight that Canada's little slogan is "own the podium." Now the joke around Olympic Village is "rent the podium from the Americans."

Welcome to a week ago. ;)

The best part is Canadians turn on each other like few other nationalities. I can't wait for Marty to be blamed in the ROC and then for the inevitable Quebecois backlash.

This game was terrible. But it worked out for us.
Wait, what's this "us"? I thought you rooted for England in international sports.

He should be blamed, because he's just not that good anymore.

Tidbit to blow your mind:

The U.S.A. win tonight eliminated either Russia or Canada from medal contention.

RDS, Jean Charest, and Quebec City may not see it that way. Notice the opening ceremonies kerfuffel.

I'm actually probably overplaying this as he'll be replaced by a Quebecer, but its nice to dream.

Well yeah, it's always Quebec's fault. Duh! ;)

LOL....

The U.S. (with 24 medals) is making it very, very tough for us to achieve the goal we set out for ourselves, but that’s still our goal, to be first in the medal count,” said Michael Chambers, president of the committee.

Speaking of next weekend, Caroline Assalian, the group’s director for Olympic preparation, said the Canadians expect to win 11 to 13 in the final four days of the Winter Olympics, which feature the medal rounds in curling, hockey and bobsled

Oops.

That is pretty remarkable. Definitely didn't see that coming! Not that I'm complaining... :D

Assuming the Swiss get past Belarus, could that game be a trap game? Considering they have already played them and won, the US might be a little bit inclined to look past the Swiss, but they make me nervous. They played Canada really well.

U18- USA
WJC- USA
Olympic- USA

Suck it, Canada. Even if it's only for a week.

Wasn't there an U17 win in there as well?

It's this.

It was never, "zay" when JP was around so I don't know why it should be now.

Hell, it just might be the thing that drives Quebec off to form its own country and all. :D :D

I want that to happen just for the hilarity of seeing French-Canadian Taunter types guarding the Canada-Quebec border. :D :D
