Re: Gentlemen, the goods.

Compared to their last few Friday nights I thought they looked fine. How many times have they looked beyond this game looking forward to Platty? They missed some chances... but they had so many, the pressure was really good. I thought they looked focused on this game and controlled it well, nice to see Hare get another shutout!

SkipperBOB great points for tonights game. Hare didn't look strong to me hope he looks better tonight. This was a great game for the Lakers for they Bears played a really good game for 45-50 minutes. The Bears goalie played a good game which frustrated the snipers for the Lakers which is good. Overall I hope to see the same effort tonight but with out all the penalities. If we give Platty that many chances they will travel back up north with a BIG W.

Discipline tonight...stay out of the box...focus on our game...be ready...do the little things... They might be cliches, but tonight they are the keys to a good result.

Yeah...me too...

What the heck would they want to talk to you about? ;)

And I don't know why they want to talk to Farkas...I taught him everything he knows. :)

"As former WTOP analyst and color commentator used to say: a two-goal lead is the most dangerous lead in hockey"

Is it time to drop the puck up there at the CC yet? I'm getting a tuneup with Castleton/Norwich right now.

Anybody know if Whitelaw is playing tonight?? Cardinals down to 5 defensemen. Kaye (shoulder) is out for sure, Beadow (on crutches last night after taking one off ankle in warmups) and newcomer Calabrese got his bell rung in 1st period and did not return. Excellent penalty killer Michael Cassidy also out with a knee.

I saw Whitelaw this week, not wearing boot and walking without limp. Super important game tonight, but not as important to make run after winter break. I kind of hope they hold him out until 2nd semester to make a playoff run. These two teams are too good not to be meeting in the the playoffs, and they will both be awful good at the end of the year

WNYO just said that he'll be out tonight.

Re: Oswego State Laker Hockey 2012-2013....No Slogans, Just Hockey

The one thing that concerns me at this point in the season is the lack of depth. I hope that Eddie has 1 or 2 tricks up his sleeve and that we will see some new faces after the break. Even with a healthy Peter Rodrigues and Jon Whitelaw we are at 3 scratches a game which was normally Peter, Eli, and Nick/Denton. Now we have one healthy scratch and with the healthy of scratch of Chris Muise looming it makes setting lines up difficult especially if Whitey can't come back this weekend. Like i said elsewhere I think you would have to move Josepher into a forward spot as he seems to have decent speed and has a eye for the net. Out of all the defenseman that is the only one I could see moving over into that role.

Re: Oswego State Laker Hockey 2012-2013....No Slogans, Just Hockey

I will go a step further and say the lack of scoring depth in some of these tight games is killing them. Moodie and Rodrigues struggled to find the back of the net against Platty and with the exception of Muise on the PP no one was able to step up and get one. Hitting the post five times in the third period didn't help and you don't get those bounces sometimes but so many open chances went by the boards. After Muise scored all they needed was one more goal to tie and and Platty would have been reeling but Oswego has an awful habit of not being able to get that next goal when they really need it.

Re: Oswego State Laker Hockey 2012-2013....No Slogans, Just Hockey

Several HUGH things were appearent in last nights game. Emory out coached Ed. Ed did nothing to break the 1-3-1 in the first period. Not that he hasn't saw if for what the 12 years or so. Emory had his players ready to go. Not to for the Lakers if they could have won they would be in the cat bird seat for the SUNYAC's Now they must beat Platty in Platty to keep that assuming they win all the rest of the SUNY Games. Hare looked terrible in the first. Most importantly there seemed to me no leadership on the ice a HUGH hole now is appearent with Whitlaw out. One big plus for the Lakers they looked great on the PPK. Platty has a good PP unit and is usually very effecient.
The Cards goalie was extremely impressive and I haven't seen a college goalie that cool with so many shots like he took in the third ever. The Cards were diffently the better team last night.

Thanks to the Oswego radio guys for a great broadcast last night, listened on the car ride in, in the rink and in the car on the way home. class act and informative, especially impressed with how unbiased they were for students. These guys told it like it was, I didn't hear any comments about refs screwing either team or anything like that. always a pleasure to hear their broadcasts when we make the trip down. Way to go guys and I look forward to hearing you again in the future.

Re: Oswego State Laker Hockey 2012-2013....No Slogans, Just Hockey

I thought once Oswego started to get their legs moving in the second and forced Platty into taking some penalties they took the game over, they just couldn't find the back of the net with some great saves by Cadieux, five posts, about a hundred missed nets and a million blocked shots. It's funny how things can turn from one game to another because Oswego got very lucky against Potsdam on Friday with two posts that could have found them down before they ever got rolling. On Saturday the posts were going the other way. Every SUNYAC game is a must win from here on out, so it should make for some pretty intense games in the second half.

Fellas... your kind words are much appreciated. We pride ourselves in being objective, and hearing that from Platty fans makes what we do well worth it.

You don't get to 3 straight National Semifinals without doing some (a lot) of things right.

I would bet dollars to donuts that Oswego went over all week how to attack the 1-3-1. They just did not execute when it counted. It happens, and when it does, as a coach it's really frustrating.
