Digby said postgame that they didn't mention Plattsburgh until Sunday morning- believe him or not....

I knew we were in trouble when just before we left for the game I saw that friggin cardinal at the bird feeder for the first time this year (insert Twilight Zone music here). I couldn't sleep Saturday night with the symphony of pipe rings and Cadieux pad thumps running through my head. "If pipes were goals..." I think we were up 5-3.

Agree with many of the opinions- Ed got outcoached by Emery (grrr.....), two notches of intensity (both on ice AND IN THE STANDS) lacking until 4:00 left in the game, 1-3-1 disrupted Lakers usual flow up the ice (again), the conundrum of "ya gotta get the puck to the net" vs. Platty's willingness to give up the body. But I'm thinking most about next year- I think we graduate about 15 while the Cards have mostly underclassmen coming back.

I'm glad no one buys a goalie controversy because there isn't one. I said Hare will and should get all the important starts in the second half and he will probably start both games this weekend. I don't see why people are making it sound like if Gilbert starts it means an automatic loss. Hare might give them the best chance to win but I am sure Gilbert would give them a decent chance as well. Maybe it is just my curiosity to see what there only current option for the future has against a good team. Plymouth is a decent team and so is Nazareth but you don't have the added pressure of playing a title contender in those games like you do with Utica.

I understand all the seeding and Pool A implications that could come with losing either or both of this weekends games but I think championship teams should be able to go on the road and win if they have to and they should be able to come from the play-in game as well. Oswego has had the bye's and home ice the last three years and they still came up short so maybe a tougher road would be good for them.

as far as being out coached not sure if that is the proper term, but they did have a system that we had to adapt to, and it hurt us for sure, not to many oddman rushes foir us to burry the puck,minus Cadeux and the posts:eek:..perha[ps we should have a 2-3 offensive zone trap when we visit platty , we played it in prep and it works, the bottom line both teams/coaches know eachother well, and platty came in with something new and it worked....as for next yr we will worry about it after the season, but it is interesting to see who is coming in so far as /the recruit thread...ps you do have to give major props to platty for overcoming injuries ,they should have a great game vs Norwich

You are right they did figure out the best way to beat the 1-3-1 which is to go right at it and force them to take some penalties trying to stop you. Unfortunately they were unable to bury their chances. The only things that need to change for the next matchup is getting off the a better start (not spotting the Cards a two goal lead) and they need to do a better job at getting to lose pucks.

Quick question guys.

Where in gods name are we able to park for the game Friday night? Google maps got me to the Campus Centre, but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot in the way of parking.

Should I Just park in that parking lot that is kind of behind the campus centre next to Poucher Hall? Any Info could help. :o :D

there is plenty of parking near the CC will not be a problem,or I have yet to have one at any of the platty games I have been to and they all have been sold out

No, no parking for you (the Parking Nazi). You'll have to park downtown (and you'll get a ticket there), walk three miles both ways through blinding snow, really, best to just stay home. Besides, they don't sell beer at the Campus Center like you're used to at the Aud. But we're working on that.... ;)

You can get into that lot by Poucher, but only if you are very very early....the down side is you get caught waiting to get out and off campus.....follow the instructions Mike sent your way - a little further to walk, but direct access out to 104 makes up for it later...

We get to the games around quarter after six and both lots near Poucher usually have quite a few spots open. Lover is right you can get stuck in traffic after the game for a bit but not for too long, plus you Utica fans will hopefully be leaving in disgust long before the game ends anyway.

Going back to the conversation about starting Gilbert instead of Hare, if Gilbert is so bad or inexperienced, why is he on the team? It seems to me that all the goalies should be given as much ice time as possible. Of course changing goalies when you're ahead by three or four goals is much preferred than when you are behind by three or four. If your team can't get you the three goal lead, maybe you should be looking at your offense. (Just an opinion from someone whose fav team has three excellent goalies that seem to share ice time well.) Go ahead....flame away...:D

Hahaha I'm really feelin' the love from the Oswego fan base ;)

I'm only 19, so I can't touch the stuff anyways at all our home games :p

Figures a Cadet fan would agree with me because like you say all three guys get into games there. Gilbert didn't even get into the 10-1 thrashing of Geneseo and I can't figure out why, you never know when you might need him.

Yeah, definitely not thinking it's going to be a complete shellacking by Oswego Friday. A win (for Utica) hopefully, but I highly doubt you guys will walk all over us. If we can score a few and have some fun with your fans, I'll be all set. A win is only a bonus honestly to me. I understand the talent of your team, I watch all the WTOP highlights and full videos of Oswego's games (both home & away) so I can be a realist here and say the odds are more in favor of Oswego. :o

Just be sure to know, both our "fan club" & team will be revved up for this one Friday night.

Just to add my thoughts on parking.... last time i was there, my friend legitimately screwed up. it was mid-january, and he thought he saw an access road by some tall building.... turned out it was a sidewalk. thank god campus police didn't find us first.


On that note, that campus is a parking labyrinth.... at least when it comes to decent parking spots.

Funny story, a few years ago I was sitting in class at Mahar Hall (the building with its front face to Campus Center at the west end of the quad) and I look out a window to see a car in the middle of the quad. Two older women had gotten lost and drove down sidewalks into the center of campus. They drove down a set of steps and where square in the middle of Lanigan, Mahar, and the Student Union. One of the UP officers couldn't help but smile the whole time while they were moving the car out of there.

lol... me and a buddy did just about the same when we went to school there...........but it was for kicks and giggles,good thing we didnt run into the law,as we may have been in trouble in more than 1 way:p
