Oswego definately needs to get a couple quick ones on Friesen before he can settle into his game.

Nope their record is just about right. Just because they "beat" a team doesn't mean they are that good. Plattsburgh dominated that game. Friesen was the ONLY major reason Fredonia had a shot at beating Plattsburgh. Its one of the worst Fredonia teams I've seen in years. Unless Friesen can play superman for the second Saturday in a row I don't see Oswego having issues at all.

I agree their team is nothing more than poor, but if they can pull out a win against a team like platty, overlooking Ferdonia could nip us in the butt. Hopefully the team is focusing on one game at a time, and wont have trouble with them like we know they shouldn't.

The Lakers really need to win the next two games in order to not worry about what Platty does. 4 points gives them the regular season title. It also gives them home ice advantage throught the SUNYAC playoffs. If they finish 2nd they would have to travel to Platty if Platty finished first. We want Platty to travel. The old addage holds here just win your own games and the rest will take care of it's self. The next two games could be good tests for the Lakers. Freddy and Potsdam seems to play Lakers well in their own barns.

The only reason I don't want Oswego to have to travel in the playoffs is because I don't want to have to travel to see them. Other than that we all know how little it really matters if Platty has to come here or not. We also know that it doesn't really matter if Oswego get's third place or sixth in the semi's because their toughest opponent is still themselves.

Glad the Hi "C" line of Brown, Muise and Ayote were rolling tonight. Congrats to Gertsakis for the game winner. A good test for the Lakers.

I am glad Brownie is healthy for the stretch run because that line has been excellent when they have been together and healthy. Also good to see Bobby G get on the scoring list because it looks like he will be the offensive D-man that will replace McConney and Josepher for the next few years. Hare was good as well, no soft goals and a couple of big saves which is what you need in close games.

If any of you Laker fans decide to make the trek north for Friday's game, make sure you dress warm. The Massena Arena is a nice rink, but I'm still trying to warm up. It gets a little chilly in there. Plenty of parking and places to eat near the rink as well as there is a tavern, restaurant, and a Burger King within walking distance from the rink. Safe travels.

A win is a win, and that's always good. Ironically enough, in regards to clinching a first round bye, this game ended up not mattering. Because Geneseo lost tonight, even if Oswego had lost tonight they would be guaranteed at least the #2 spot in the SUNYAC and therefore a first round bye. Geneseo is now locked in at the #3 spot for the season, their last game against M-ville doesn't really matter for them. Even if they win their last game and P-burgh loses both of their next games, they'll be tied and P-burgh (correct me if I'm wrong) wins the tie-break. Buff State and Fredonia are now guaranteed playoff spots as well (though their spot in the playoffs could change). The battle in the SUNYAC is only over the last 6th spot now. Potsdam is the team to beat right now for that last spot, and they can clinch it with one more win (they face Oswego and Cortland next weekend). If Potsdam can't win one of those two games it opens the door for any of the teams below it to take the last spot. Brockport could take the spot with a win over M-ville. But if Cortland pulls an upset over P-burgh and beats Cortland they could take the spot even if Brockport won their game. Morrisville could also take the spot with wins over Brockport and Geneseo. But this all depends on Potsdam losing both of their games. If they can pull off a win or a tie against Oswego on Friday, the teams playing in the SUNYAC playoffs will in all likelihood be set in stone at that point and none of the Saturday games will change that.

As a Plattsburgh fan, next Friday I will also become a Bears fan for the night! Even a tie would be appreciated!!

very nice weekend for Oz,dont think that is a ez swing,just ask platty, but next weekend is the real deal, will not take much to get the boys up I would think..didnt get to see any play but from the looks of it we took care of business...ps how many new utica threads for this week??

I'll be making the trip to Plattsburgh on Saturday with Farkas in tow....

Watch out Plattsburgh) The Norwich-converted Oswego alums are coming to town...;)

Is Mr. Farkas working, i.e. calling, the game for a certain 3 letter network, or is he a civilian?
