concussions, those r a tough injury to come back from,had a few in football and they mess u up for awhile,he should take his time coming back for sure, he will be missed as I think he has some good offensive skills and will be relied on next yr for pt production...I wonder if we will see Josepher up at forward tonight, it seemed to have put a jump in his game?

As we saw, having brown back let the coaches move Josepher back to the defense. It's exciting having Josepher up in the forward position, but honestly, I think we're better off having forwards in the forward position and defensemen in the defense position. According to Digby last week he would've been fine with Gertsakis or Mcconney making the move up to forward in a worst case scenario as well.

Tough fought win tonight, as expected to anyone who's seen a mville game at Campus Center. Getting upgraded to decent facilities for the day always seems to put a little spring in mville's step and they play really well. They're doing pretty well right now, I wouldn't be surprised if we see them again in the first round of the SUNYAC playoffs.

Crazy start of the weekend with Bowdoin, Utica, St. Norbert, Neuman, Williams all losing. Should see some changes in the poles come next week. Oswego needs to keep winning, and get healthy and fast again. This is going to be a fun end of the year in the East!

Chris Carr will be back next weekend. I spoke with him tonight and he seemed pretty confident about the return.Did not get a chance to talk with Badham. So, good that we are gaining another one back and it appeared no one got injured during this game.

Big win again tonight even though it was close, but a win is a win. This is what to expect at the end of the year tight, highly contested games.

Bowdoin losing is probably the biggest result of tonight, followed by St. Norbert losing. I expect Bowdoin to fall a spot or two in the rankings, with Oswego taking the #2 spot. Norbert is likely going to fall about two spots to below Adrian. I expect Hobart to win against Utica on Sunday too and they will move up to the #3 spot.
To put it all together:
#1 Norwich
#2 Oswego
#3 Hobart
#4 Bowdoin
#5 Wisconsin EC
#6 Adrian (assuming they sweep the weekend, otherwise they fall significantly)
#7 St. Norbert
#8 Platty

Beyond that everything's up for grabs. I wouldn't be surprised to see Neumann fall off the list and even Genny could possibly make it on the list.

First it was a nice cermony after the game to honor the seniors. It was to bad that more of the students didn't stay to show their appreciation. Besides that the big turning point in the game I thought was Hare miss handling of the puck which resutled in M'villes first goal. Up till that point it looked like the Lakers could and did what everythey wanted. Gotta give teh Mustangs their due for they made a good game of it last night and everytime they play the Lakers in Oswego. I was very impressed with King again. He handles the puck well and is a big physical force on D. I think that next year with 3 defencemen coming back that it will be the back bone of the team. Also as others have memtioned Titianic is coming into his own and will be a good leader next year. I was very impressed with his play last night.

couldnt agree more about King, from what I have watched on the computer/video so far...Oz will have to step it up in the next 4 games for sure,and Josepher will have to be the leader on D and take his game up, he got beat lastnight again,not sure whats up with my fellow Long Islande,r has not been the same on d lately

I made a graph of the number of players on the top teams in D3 right now. Of all the top teams, Oswego has the least number of players, at 24. Just one or two extra players makes a pretty huge difference since teams won't have to send up a d-man to a forward spot or vice versa in an emergency.

Fun fact though, when Oswego won the championship in 2007, it had exactly 24 players on the team...

I'd imagine a lot of Utica fans spend more time on d3hockey since their polls have tended to be more favorable to Utica this year.

With platty's loss tonight, Oswego is in a super-great spot in the SUNYAC rankings. Genny only has 3 more games left (including a game against Platty). No matter what happens between Genny and Platty now, Oswego only needs to win 3 out of their next 4 to win the regular season. If they can beat buff state, fredonia and potsdam, the plattsburgh game will only be for pride.
If Oswego doesn't win all 3 games before the platty game, the results of that genny-platty game will be very important though. If Genny wins, then Oswego needs at least 2 wins and a tie (out of 4 possible games) to win the regular season (this would put them at a tie with Genny and Oswego would win the tie-breaker). If Platty wins against Genny, then Oswego losing one of their next 3 games means they would need either a tie or a win at Platty to win the regular season.

We want to win in the second and third seasons and Platty is a very dangerous team and I am sure Emory will have his team full of p,,, and vinegar for the post season. I am expecting another epic post season between Platty and Oswego. I would never count out Platty in any type of game.

Well said, can't agree more. This statement is the most important one. No you don't want to come into the tourney this way, but if it gets you in.........TAKE IT.

I have to agree with you on all counts. Morrisville played much better than their record. Hare's tendency to wander has hurt us and will in the future if he continues. Our power play needs to generate more goals. Heading down the stretch it's those goals that could be the difference. As for Titanic, he was a work horse and if he keeps firing the puck towards the net he will continue to produce. As for the students, that was very disappointing.

At this point in the season, you want to keep winning so you can play the least amount of games and limit travel - play on home ice after 4 SUNYAC road games....host a SUNYAC semi and final, then host an NCAA quarterfinal...make the drive the drive to Placid...win 8 games and get to play in the 9th...sort out injuries, lineup options and give 14 seniors, on the cusp of the winningest class in Oswego history, the opportunity to do what they could not last year... Win/Loss records become less important once you get to the post season...but having a solid run that builds confidence and improves team chemistry is something you can't buy...
