Oswego State Hockey 2011-2012 Part II: Hockey Never Sleeps

Re: Oswego State Hockey 2011-2012 Part II: Hockey Never Sleeps

maybe with Tim Hale leaving Oswego (retiring?) we will also see Plattsbugh's wonderful A.D. (sarcastically said) will be finding his way out the door soon and we can see a change for the better on the ticket process.

I am sure OSUPBPMike can speak to student arrivals, but until official practice starts and the roster is final, any speculation as to new players, returning players and the health of the roster is just that - speculation..... 60 days til the puck drops

Freshman move in Friday, everyone else Sunday. The team itself is already there.

Re: Oswego State Hockey 2011-2012 Part II: Hockey Never Sleeps

Oswego State Athletics Director Timothy G. Hale has announced his upcoming retirement with his last day on campus being August 23, 2012. Hale, a 1968 graduate of SUNY Cortland and a Bridgeport, N.Y. native, steps down after nine years at the helm of the Laker Athletics Department and over 40 years of working in athletics as a coach or an administrator.

The Oswego State Athletics Department has accomplished unprecedented success during Hale's nine-year career including three SUNYAC women's swimming championships (2005-07), SUNYAC championships in women's basketball (2006), men's ice hockey (2010), and men's basketball (2012), recognition of countless all-conference, conference event champions, and All-America athletes, and the department's lone team NCAA National Championship earned by the men's ice hockey team in 2007.

Hale worked with school officials to reinstate women's ice hockey as an NCAA-sanctioned squad, and was instrumental in several building projects. The first was the building and completion of the state-of-the-art Campus Center Ice Arena in 2006 and the last was coordinating the renovation of Romney Fieldhouse into an indoor practice facility for numerous athletic teams.

Before joining Oswego State, Hale was the athletic director at Greece Arcadia High School from 2000-03 where he helped design a new track and field facility.

Prior to working at Greece Arcadia, Hale served as an associate athletic director at the University of Rochester from 1998-2000 and the head men's cross country and track and field coach from 1973-2000. His cross country squads registered nine undefeated seasons, nine NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional titles, 15 New York State crowns, including a stretch of ten consecutive titles, 11 top 10 national finishes, and won the NCAA Division III Championship in 1991. The seven-time league and three-time regional Coach of the Year directed 58 All-Americans and four individual NCAA National Champions.

Hale served as past president of the NCAA Division III Cross Country Coaches Association, past president of the New York State Track and Field Association, and past chair of the NCAA Division III Rules Committee. He has been inducted in the C-Club (SUNY Cortland) and University of Rochester Hall of Fames, and received the New York State Collegiate Track Conference Service Award.

Upon graduation from SUNY Cortland, Hale assumed coaching and teaching positions at LeMoyne College and SUNY Plattsburgh, before spending 26 years at the University of Rochester.

Hale competed on SUNY Cortland's state champion track and field teams before earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from SUNY Cortland and a Master of Science Degree from Canisius College.

An announcement concerning the College's plan to move forward in finding Hale's replacement will be made in the near future.

You should contract out your broadcast / video crews to other colleges (man to they need guidance on how to broadcast).

It's far from the first year we've done football, but the kudos are appreciated all the same... any live sports that pass the time until hockey are welcomed greatly! (Next football broadcast 9/14)

Just wondering, how much longer is class AA Oswego High School going to play class A football? I understand they are rebuilding, but this has been going on for several seasons. I know this past weekend Carthage put a thumping on them. When you play down you cannot qualify for playoffs. To me this has to be a negative for the program.
