Oswego State 2010 Off-Season Thread: "Say it Ain't so Neil"

Re: Oswego State 2010 Off-Season Thread: "Say it Ain't so Neil"

Gee, I don't understand why this topic of Oswego fans vs. Plattsburgh fans, cheering or lack of is so repetitive every year. Here we go again. Yes, Oswego has great participation and is mainly made up of students which is really great. What most people don't realize is that the principle supporters of Cardinal hockey are the townies. It is unfortunate that the students aren't there all the time but that is the way it is and probably will always be. I know it has been that way since I've been going in the 80's. The loyal town's people are the ones at the away games, playoffs and events. The kids don't make many of those either for whatever reason, I don't see why this bothers people so much. Sure we would like more noise and cheering but I think we need to accept that it is what it is. We love our hockey no matter what.

It's because we're better than you.;)

What was it you said earlier? Something about Oswego's usual role being Plattsburgh's bridesmaid?

You got a year to shine, don't let it go to your head ;)

And don't forget: you still didn't make it any further than us in the national tournament. Yeah, you got the SUNYAC hardwear... but you didn't outshine us when it really mattered... in Lake Placid. In fact, you lost to the team that lost the next day. We lost to the National Champions, for the 3rd year in a row :D

but I like Birds's response: we'll debate this one in October and November (Campus Center on 11/6)

I agree. Those black unis are sick. I wish the college would bring back the anchor as part of its logo. Any Oswego hockey jersey from the last 15 years that had the anchor on it was sweet.

So, any word on this Ian Boots fellow who is potentially going to grace the ice of the campus centre? I was a little thrown off by his number from freshman year to last year, but that aside, I think having a D1 kid joining the ranks will be a plus. From the looks of our recruiting thus far, we should, and I emphasize SHOULD be able to get back most of the goal scoring that Selleck and Musselwhite left behind. Thoughts?

Never know how the recruits will pan out once they actually hit the ice at the collegiate level.

On paper, Oswego has a good class. But Mussells and Dormo brought some incredible intangibles to that team. There is a reason why they both were important cogs to the 2007 championship team as freshmen.
