That's too bad...

You'll miss Elmira winning the rubber match:cool:

That's too bad...he'll miss Oswego winning the Pathfinder over MSOE:D :p

(Kind of like when Oswego decided they didn't want to play St. Norbert in the championship game and lost on the first night:( )

Re: Oswego State 2009-10 Regular Season Thread

I feel like you're one of those guys that's friends with Crahan and were on his broomball team;) If so, the flag you guys had was epic. Reminded me of the Romney days when I ran around the rink after goals with the Oswego flag....good luck doing that at the CC at a Laker game now:rolleyes:

:D You called it - I'd give anything to get my hands on a replica of that yellow "L" flag and run it at the games. It would be like Moses parting the Green Sea of Standing Room Only though.

Glad you liked the BB flag though: I'll bring it for a few games this spring.

Wow I hope I am still allowed to post on the D-III board. Just wanted to say there will be a surprised old guest at the pathfinder this weekend who will be stopping by as he will be in the area...

Would it be a former Pathfinder MVP?

Re: Oswego State 2009-10 Regular Season Thread

You beat me to the Post Standard's article, which is a nice article. It is to bad that they don't do anything for the Lakers. When I lived in the Cuse area in the mid 90's there was very little mention of the Lakers.
Oswego'89

Nor Rochester when I lived there....

Coming in Friday or just Sat and Sunday????

Re: Oswego State 2009-10 Regular Season Thread

Strange game. Beckwith in the nets, no Seleck or VanBoxmeer in the lineup? Con scored first, it was a tossup until Oswego put in their traditional third period surge. Beckwith played very well, some excellent stops. Things just looked out of synch with the different lineups.

Elmira was only up 2-1 after one period. MSOE played them tough, again it was only late in the second that Elmira scored two quick ones and put it away.

Elmira sat in the stands for the first two periods of the Oswego game, looking hungry (in more ways than one.) Good crowd, lots of nice lake effect and wind. Questionable officiating... again.

Re: Oswego State 2009-10 Regular Season Thread

"A source close to the team confirmed to me that Selleck does indeed have a shiner, but would not say how it happened. When pressed on the issue, they said Selleck took a puck to the face in practice."

Wow. That must have been a rocket to get through the facemask  !

Or he wasn't wearing his helmet. It's happened before. Former netminder Chris Hyk was standing near the boards without a helmet when a puck went off the iron and hit him square in the face, breaking his nose. I believe that was during his junior year.

If that really was the case, perhaps these guys should keep their helmets on whenever they're on the ice.

I wonder if that was part of the reason why they mandated goalies wear helmets now on the bench instead of allowing them to wear baseball caps or nothing at all?

Re: Oswego State 2009-10 Regular Season Thread

Well that answers the question about Selleck, any word on Hank? Was he just scratched again, or was there anything more to it?

I'm too lazy to look it up, but I'm pretty sure all players now have to wear their helmets on the bench. I noticed some Trinity players yesterday violating that rule (although I consider the first one acceptable... the player had just gone hard into the boards head-first)

Maybe he got benched simply because he's slow and out of position all the time and there are players who deserve to be in the line up over him?
