That was a fun race to watch from China. Sorta, kinda, almost and sometimes wet. Made for some iteresting strategies, and some really good wheel to wheel racing- passing, close racing, out braking, etc. Super, super fun.
Button
Hamilton
Rosberg
Alonso

One other comment- I noticed that green and yellow car near the back of the pack, driven by Takuma Sato- gee, that looks like it should be a Lotus.
Indeed- the car is sponsored by Lotus AND Cosworth.
And I think neither are the same as the ones in F1, sicne F1 uses a different logo, and Cosworth is Cosworth Engineering, not Cosworth Racing (different companies).
Interesting.

The only think I'm not so sure about is the Group Lotus thing.
If you go to the F1 team's website, and then compare that with the KV racing website, they say the same thing about Lotus- almost word for word. The F1 team seems to be allowed to associate itself with the old team, and with Classic Team Lotus, but it's not Lotus. really interesting.
I know Cosworth Engineering (Technology) and Racing are totally different companies- worked with both.
I'm just trying to figure out how Lotus Cars and Lotus Engineering (both part of Group Lotus) are so different that one can use the logo while the other can not. That, and IF they are both part of Group Lotus, it seems like a waste of money to spend on an IRL team when F1 should clearly be top priority.
But none of that really matters- neither team is realted to the old, creative team.
That's a LOT different than what I thought when I saw your post.
Not bad, for sure.
Could be worse. At least it is fairly close to my home! Although I still contend that Watkins Glen is a better place.
I didn't get to see last weeks IRL race. I forgot it was on Saturday night.
[RANT]I absolutely hate night racing. Racing is suppose to be on Sunday afternoons. Just like the NFL. [/RANT]
Anyway, I was looking through the results and of course I saw the Duno finished 26th. 116 laps down. It got me to thinking has she ever finished a race on the lead lap? And has there ever been a worse full time Indy driver that has lasted this long? Ugh. What a joke.
I don't mind night races. Out here when I was in my 20's we'd go out to the local dirt track and watch the local boys race Saturday nights. We had an event where I could not watch it.
I am SO looking forward to the European swing of F1 and a chance to watch some live races. I feel so out of it so far this year.
I liked on thre road/street courses Simona was beating Danica. Cool beans.
Interesting race in Monoco. Webber with the class of the field. Nobody could touch him.
Alonso and Ferrari with a great strategy and some good fortune.
Schumi with a bone head pass under the SC. Who really thought that was OK?
Oh, and Hamilton once again proved what a whiner and immature he is. Complaining over the radio for the second race in a row that his team doesn't know what it is doing.
(did Mike get a penalty? I'll have to look that one up)
I'm still a fan of Hamilton, and while I thought he didn't need to voice his opinion over the radio, the commentators didn't need to blather on about it so long, either. The TV feed does not play ALL of the radio feeds.... Hopefully, Lewis can understand that he needs to just deal with the hand he deals himself. While they laughed at Ferrari's comments in Spain for Masa, after he broke his wing- they could have really railed into Phillipe, but just thought it was funny and "cute". IMHO, that was the team calling out the driver, which is just as bad as the driver calling out the team.
On that note- it was interesting to hear that brakes were such an issue at Monaco for more than just McLaren. What in the world are they doing that makes them wear that fast? It's not as if that track is so hard on brakes.
I don't remember what was said on radio with Massa and his team over the wing more than after he damaged it he seems to be going faster and that maybe they "solved the problem" with the car. Maybe there was more that I can't remember but that seems much more innocent than Hamilton again calling out his team. That is certainly not a way to keep the guys in the shop in his corner. Especially when seeming Button is completely the opposite and beating him in the points.
But the comment was just dripping with sarcasm. It really wasn't a nice thing to say to a driver- Crash the car- you'll go faster! I didn't think it was all that nice, but maybe Philipe took it differently.
