Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

Haha, okay. Wonder if that was a personal choice or USA hockey being cheap. Lundquist had Sweden pads, and I honestly didn't pay attention to the other goalies.

Goalies are superstitious and he probably didn't want to break in new pads.

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

It was probably was just his decision, probably felt he was better off sticking with the pads he was used to.

I thought of the breaking in thing...but figured its the olympics, couldn't it be worth the effort?

Probably more true it's Miller being superstitious...he is quite so, doing the same routine every time he comes on the ice and I can imagine that would be the main reason.

Yeah, I mean, you could break in pads in practice with your NHL team before the games. But the superstition thing makes sense.

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

I thought that whistle was a bit early but in review it was probably a good call to blow it dead.

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

not to speak too early or anything....but I am very pleased with how miller is playing so far. He looks comfortable in net, but I'll definitely keep fingers crossed!

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

US can only blame itself on that. You don't put the puck right in front of your own net.

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

great catch by Pronger... why isn't he spending the next two minutes thinking about that catch?

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

How's it looking? I just extracted myself from an Archer marathon to get here.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
