There was a positive side?:o

Ferris is on the upswing, but ouch. I guess this is one of those situations where you just throw away the DVD and start over fresh the next night. Thank goodness for the two game series, and the opportunity for redemption it provides.

My thougths exactly. You just have to throw everything about last night and start fresh today.

Saturday Night Game. :confused:


Overtime " LOSS " due to another penalty. :mad:


We gave this game away twice. The first time was in the third period on a penalty with less than a minute to play for the tie. :mad:

And in OT , we took another penalty with seconds on the clock. :mad:


Dear ( Discipline ) Coach ,

Please help this " TEAM " with there anger control and help them stay out of the PENALTY BOX. :p EH. :p

Maybe we should send the " GIRLS OSU TEAM " to North Dakota next weekend. :rolleyes:

Last season OSU had ND beat until Boots speared a ND player. OSU went on to lose in OT. That almost cost the Bucks a spot in the tourney. Boots then spent the next couple of WE in the stands. If the only way to keep some of these kids out of the box is to make them a healthy scratch, by all means.

Coach " BENCHED " some of the Veteran players at the start of the season. Maybe it's time to send the message again.

We are talking Veteran's and not rookies that are costing us games due to penalties and bad timing. :eek:

* I understand that there's no such thing as a penalty " FREE GAME " because I have played the game , Coached the game and also have Refed the game.
To get called on a penalty in OT , the penalty has to be pretty obvious. Most refs want the teams to decide the games especially in OT.

The way I see it is that there are two kinds of Penalties.

1. " HARD WORKING " one were the player is digging hard for the puck and then gets a penalty. :)

2. " STUPID " ones were the player chooses to get a Penalty out of anger and lack of self-control. :mad:


It's the timing of the STUPID penalties that is the difference of WIN or LOSE the game.

I remember as a young player getting a STUPID penalty out of anger and sitting in the penalty box and getting scored on and losing the game. That feeling of letting my team down was enough to change my attitude and it was the last time I took a stupid penalty. :o

The player needs to control there behavior first and if that don't happen then it's the Coaches job to step in and take care of it.

Most games at this level and at the pro level are WON on the other teams " MISTAKES. "

If a team has a very good power play unit , they are going to WIN the tight games. :)

If a team has a weak power play unit , they better have a very good PENALTY KILL unit or they are in trouble. :eek:

When we play as a team , we are a very good team. I would like to see some more " CONSISTENCY " from the veteran players and also start playing the younger players that are hungry for ice time. :D

After seeming to get things on track in the wesetern series they took a huge step backwards last weekend in Ferris. What was it 8 PPG for the bulldogs and 2 of them at the end of a game they lead by 3 two different times and with 17 minutes to go no less. They better wake up and smell the coffee or this season will be in the dumpster.

The next 2 weekends may show us where this team is headed. The subway classic at North Dakota and the home series vs the struggling but very talented Wolverines at home. I want to see the team that played the 2nd night vs denver and western series at least compete and when things arent going the way they want dont just quit and give up.

I agree ,

The game we " SKUNKED " Denver was our best game so far. :)

Like I said before , we are a good TEAM when we play as a TEAM. :D


We need to play hard for three periods , WIN or LOSE.

Kind of late here but you couldn't have scripted a worse weekend. I too am not happy about the late game/OT penaltys Saturday but come on how about killing one. So now who is your goalie?

Tell the boys to shake it off fast because there is CCHA pride on the line this weekend in Grand Forks.

I think Ferris is pretty good. And, you get another shot at them at the Schott later in the season. We still have to go up there.
