This weekend at North Dakota is going to be a " DOG FIGHT. " :D


Both games are going to be a challenge and we need to rise up to it. ;)

With all the PPG scored last weekend i dont know if you can name a clear no.1 after having rotated all season. I think we will see the same this weekend. Like i said before the character of this team is going to be tested this weekend 2 very good opponents coming up with Friday being UND in there place should be good stepping stone.

I have still not recovered from the anguish of watching the Bucks snatch defeat from the jaws of victory last Sat. Ferris is a really good hockey team (beat Miami twice - in Miami's barn for cripes sake!!), but sheesh... 9 of Ferris' 14 goals (total) for the weekend were powerplay goals - NINE!!! And yet the penalty kill 'system' (such as it is) never changes. WHY? WHY??!!!?! I know why, and it breaks my heart because this is a talented bunch that want to win and have tremendous potential... :(

I hope through sheer will and determination and character that the boys play well this weekend, win, lose or draw.

Forget the PK for now. Sat nite both teams had 6 penalties...even right...NO. Two of OSU penalties came at horrible times. I mentioned Boots gaff against ND last year, but this is different. You can take into consideration that Boots was a freshman, who hadn't play in over a year and made a stupid play. Picard and Somma are team leaders, A-captains, kids who have been around the block. They know better. You take away Boot's penalty last year and credit OSU with a win instead of an OT loss. That alone may have bumped them up to a 12th seed in the tourney, don't play Boston first round, maybe get a more manageable first round team, maybe a win. You can blame coaching if you want, bottom the take the heat. But these kids knew better.

Good point. You can't put the refs in postion to have to make a call (both of the ill-timed penalties were obvious calls), and you are right Picard and Somma should know better (or at least, the should be more mindful in such situations).

The " BUCKS " need to get back to basic hockey. Skate hard , pass , shoot, crash the net , back check and stay out of the penalty box. :eek:


The team that stays out of the penalty box and has a good power-play unit WINS games. :D

I used to live in GF, and will be there for the Sat BSU/OSU game. It's not a bad town (and the weather will be chilly - 40 Fri, and 35 Sat, but it looks like the snow will hold 'til Sat night/Sunday). It's more the wind than anything. I remember going over for the World Juniors in 2006, and hearing Fins and Sweeds complain that it was so cold (-30 and wc of -50 or colder) :eek: . That should tell you something. I'm glad I moved to Bemidji... ;)

This weekend I will finally get to watch the games " LIVE. " :D

I won't get that buffering like I do with the Internet TV.

I plan on watching all the games. :)


Maybe I should sit next to the penalty box and shake my finger at the BUCKEYE players when/If they take " STUPID " penalties.

I'm not looking for a sweep , but I do expect to see good hockey and get a WIN. :cool:

First Sioux PP of the night stopped. Folkes on the PP. He's not the fastest skater, not the hardest shot, therefore not much ice time. But when he does get on the ice he gives quality minutes. A grinder, what they need on the PK.

I watched the game on tv and thougth they competed for the most part but some very simple things cost them on each of und's goals. Not clearing the puck on the Pk and the next thing you know its 1-0. on the second goal Chris reed lost his man who then puts in a goal from the side of the net. this one takes the cake ohio state has 2 guys in the corner north dakota has 1 guy, guess who gets the puck and makes a great pass to set up a one-timer for the goal.

Daple was again the best player on the ice for the bucks as he should be on most nights. I thought he could have had 2 or 3 goals on top of the 1 he had. Dusty was very good tonight just like almost everytime he has suited up this season, he gets no support on the other end. He didnt have a chance on any of the 4 goals and it could have been much worse if not for him. The PP now 9-80 on the season awful as usual no chances cant get the puck in the zone for extended time to even set things up.

Tomorrow is another day but if they dont change with doing the little things that need to be done to win a hockey game they will come back with 2 losses and michigan coming to town next weekend.

Sioux radio team was impressed with the Dalpe-Somma-Boyd line, went as far as to say they as good as any in the country. He just felt after those 3, Buckeyes just didn't have much help. Still, Bishop-Albert-Reed can be pretty good.

I was sitting in the upper deck of the arena and that was what I seen also.

The 1st and 2nd period we were in the game and we didn't take to many stupid penaltys at all.

Goalie Dusty Carlson was the reason we were in the game the first two periods as he made some AWESOME SAVES. :)

The 3rd period was all UND. " GAME OVER. " :mad:

Out of the 4 goals scored on us , only one was a freak goal and we knocked it in trying to find the rebound. The other goals were do to not taking the UND player on the open side. We let UND players get behind us around the net for easy goals. :confused:


We will have our hands full with the " BEMIDJI BEAVERS " today also. The
Beavers are a team that has NO super stars and has players that work hard and are a in your FACE team , just ask Miami Ohio. I watched that game also.

What was it like sitting at a college game with 11000+. Maybe a crowd that large intimidated the Buckeyes. Only 4 penalties, I can live with that. Sioux radio crew seemed surprisingly impressed with the Bucks for the most part.
