Ohio State, please. Unless you're a closet Michigan fan.
Question: How are the Bulldog faithful currently evaluating their team? Last fall, when UMD came to Columbus, the Bulldog fanbase was pretty down on their squad. Now things seem to be on a much more even keel. Was it just a matter of a slow start? A realization that our league is truly strong and deep this year? Something else? Obviously UMD is accustomed to being a little higher in the standings. But I'm certainly expecting that we'll see a very formidable Bulldog team this weekend, like always. Comments?
OSU's Sara Schmitt committed a blatant cheap shot at the end of the game that could've gotten another player injured. That's not cool. But I doubt there's any bad blood. There's too much riding on this series to play stupid hockey.
Hope to see the Buckeyes come back with strong sixty minutes in the rematch. 1 for 6 on the PP sounds like they had the opportunity in a pretty close game by appearances. I've read some questioning of the OSU PP strategy this season. Maybe some merit to those observations?
PP was dreadful tonight. No urgency to get in zone. When in zone, no player ever in front of goalie to screen net minder. With exception of Spooner, OSU forwards pretty timid when it comes to crashing the net.
Had a fortune cookie after lunch today, my fortune: "Tonight, all your dreams will come true." Amen brother...way to bounce back Buckeyes! A split isn't perfection but this one, after losing the opener I'd definitely call a good result for OSU.Hope to see the Buckeyes come back with strong sixty minutes in the rematch. 1 for 6 on the PP sounds like they had the opportunity in a pretty close game by appearances. Oh wait. The Beavers lost...**** fortune cookie! Oh well...I'll take the Saturday night split.
He meant the Saturday results -- UND winning, but UMD losing -- are okay because at least the Bulldogs lost. For OSU, I don't think the weekend helped the Buckeyes cause much. UMD has an easier road remaining over the final two weekends.Ok to split now eh.... ya it's ok...lol ....way to go Spoon and the troops ...lol You'll never understand the game DA, never.
I'll never buy you as some authority with superior knowledge of "the game" DS. Particularly the WCHA. Yet I'm sure there are many who could never dream of grasping "the game" as completely and thoroughly as the great...DS. Is there a particular team you support? Or is it just the team(s) that win on a given night? Or is it no team and you just troll the entire forum in ceaseless fashion? That last one's rhetorical DS. I know the answer but realize you wouldn't have been capable of discerning the rhetorical nature.Ok to split now eh.... ya it's ok...lol ....way to go Spoon and the troops ...lol You'll never understand the game DA, never.
The only thing to say about tonight's game is Natalie Spooner took over she even managed to come out on the ice after an OSU icing, #25 Paige Semenza was hiding behind her teammates and the refs couldn't figure it out (NHL refs will check replays to see who was on the ice, NCAA needs that with the icing rules) and Spooner jumped over the boards.. Mendel's explanation to Miller "Hey, I got 4 of 5 right"
Spooner is a brick **** house. Did you see girls BOUNCE off of her? Not to mention all snipe like. Ugh.
So does the NHL hand out a delay of game penalty if a team tries to send the wrong people out? Because in the college game, by the time the refs would get done checking replays (and many arena's don't have a replay available that would show all skaters on the ice), the team that iced the puck would nave been able to rest so the advantage would be moot. The whole sport will miss her once she is gone. I don't think those outside of the WCHA really appreciate how great a player she is, because they haven't gotten to see her. However, there are 7 coaches in the WCHA that are looking forward to the opportunity to miss her.Spooner is a special player who has the ability to take over games. We are sure going to miss #5 next season!
With regard to Home Ice for the playoffs, you're correct. The "smart money" will be on the Bulldogs, for the reason you mention. For OSU, I don't think the weekend helped the Buckeyes cause much. UMD has an easier road remaining over the final two weekends.
