Re: say hello to

Definitely need to get points this weekend. We can't have any pointless weekends from here on out!

Points are a must tonight getting splits on the road are always good. They have 8 out of 12 to end the year at home so setting themselves up for a run at either home ice or a bye starts tonight.

I really hate to say this but watching some of the other college hockey games on tv lately you see a polish and chemistry that we seem to be sadly lacking.

Re: say hello to

I agree. It's much more fun to watch any team that plays on a bigger sheet of ice because there's more passing than running in to each other all the time. And the speed of the game is alot faster. I like the bigger sheet of ice. I wish the Bucks had a big sheet to play on.

Sloppy once again and it cost them another loss. The winning goal should have never happened i dont remember who made the behind the back pass to no one across the blue line but it was unforced and let the Cat player walk right into the net and score. They also now slip to 7th place only 5 points ahead of Northern for 8th.

Can't help but wonder if McCormick had his head checked into the glass too many times tonight. Who in their right mind commits a retaliation slash away from the play with 3 minutes left in the game and your team down by a goal?!
I'm sorry but such a lack of discipline can't be tolerated. Oz should make him wish he'd never been born by the time practice is over Monday!

So nobody has ANYTHING to say after last night?
Everyone take some Zoloft for their depression and get out of your funk!

Coach OZ needs to sit this player come next Fridays game to help set a good example. I'm not sure were to point my finger at for all the down fall this year. Coach or players?

In reality they still control everything they can do. they play everyone in front of them and all of the series expect Miami and Alaska are at home. They have to get better with the puck or it wont matter where they are playing. The last 2 games i have seen might be the worst puck control they have had in the last 2 years. The other thing they have to fix is the untimely or stupid penalties. That penalty Max took last night was just plain stupid.

This is Coach Oz's third season, why are these things (poor puck control, stupid penalties at inopportune times) still happening? I am trying my best to be patient with this coaching staff and program, but I expected to see some improvement this season. I'm not seeing improvement. Seems like same-old, same-old with the sloppy puck handling and stupid penalties.

Re: say hello to

Next year will be Coach OZ 4th year and he will have to carry all the pressure because the team will be all his recruits. I don't really see a big change in this team next year either. Maybe this coaching stint is just a stepping stone for him to move up the ranks in a short period of time. I guess time will tell. How long will Ohio State give him to prove himself? They gave Coach Markell about 15 years!!! LOL.

Long tenures for underperforming coaches in sports other than basketball and football have sadly been the norm at OSU. Their softball coach who was WORSE than Markell came on board the same time as he did and got two more years in than he did.

Agree with this. Hey at least we got 2 PPG's...but still lost.

After watching the Buc's get swept by Northern, I see a team that lacks any true playmakers.

In my opinion, the difference between the two clubs was OSU not having a player like Matt Thurber. Beyond the 3 points he had this weekend, was the countless chances he provided for his linemates. Here's hoping some of our young players can develop into that playmaker that we so badly need on this team!

Last year prior to his injury Danny Dries stepped up to the plate for us when we needed goals.

Re: Ohio State 2013/2014 - Third year in Oz

I do see alot of sellfish players that have carried over from last year. That's a Coaching issue to nip in the butt. A team player just wants to WIN the games & count goals & assist later. Eh.

Re: say hello to

Re: say hello to

If Gene Smith stays true to the path he has followed thus far then Oz has two more seasons. He signed on for five years and OSU seems to just let contracts expire with all sports except the big two.

I still see zero leadership on the ice. This is entirely a team of followers and there is no one to lead them.

FYI it's another DH weekend with the women's team who comes in ranked #9 in the latest uscho poll. Both women's games start at 2. I can't do both Friday but may give it a try Saturday. Should be some good ice out there with these temps

Who will step up??
