Good win for the team tonight, they did just what was needed with less outside shots and crashing the net instead to make things happen. Couldn't believe the Laker's coach pulled their goalie with over 5 minutes left and only down by 2 but I imagine Boyd appreciates it. lol!

The first few minutes of the game SUCKED being down two goals. Most games are won or lost in the 3rd period. The Bucks played more like a team tonight and were hungry for the goals. The Bucks were the favorites to win both nights , but they forgot to show up on Friday Night. It was really good to see Dustin Carlson get some playing time in the net as he is a Senior and it was a tribute to Senior night.
The games with Farris State next Thursday and Friday will be not only big for points , but will also be big for confidence heading into the playoffs. GO BUCKS GO.

If MSU can hold on in alaska 3pts( but in those points they will need 1 Win) next weekend will get them home ice and any more than that will get them 7th place or higher if the results are good from the other games. Nice to see them score some goals tonight. Anyone know why the games are thursday and friday next weekend?

just looked at the standings and for them to get :

4th: they need to sweep Ferris. Notre Dame sweeps Western. Michigan takes 5 points from Northern. Miami takes no less than 3 points from Lake St. this would give them and western both 41 points but Ohio state would have more league wins.

5th: 5 or more points and Michigan sweeps and Miami does the same as above. This gives them 40 and if lake st gets 3 that gives them 40 but ohio state would have more wins.

6th: The only way that i can figure out them getting 6th is to sweep and have Northern get 3 and western get a point or more. That give ohio state 41. Northern 42 and Western 42 or more

7th: 3 points ( with at least a win in regulation or OT) and Miami takes 5 or more points from the Lakers. This gives them 38 points along with Alaska and lake state if they get a point but ohio state would have more league wins.

8th: get 2 more points than Lake state gets and they already have the 1st tie breaker(wins)

9th: lets not go there.

Thanks for laying it out Klbaum. After Friday night's game I thought any chance of a first round bye had vanished. So of course we need to sweep Ferris and then we have the top 3 teams in the conference as our allies. Obviously the best chance to get to the finals at the Joe is to secure the first round bye and play round two at the Schott. All I can say at this point is GO BUCKS!

Of the teams in front of OSU, Alaska is done with CCHA schedule, very catch able. Western faces Norte Dame, Northern goes up against Michigan and takes on Miami. Lake, Northern or Western, any of them would get swept and I bet one does.
Miami, Norte Dame and Mich are all on the road, none of these game on the tele.

BG travels to Mich St. next week. Count on Sparty getting 6 points, which would tie them point-wise with the Buckeyes but more importantly give them more conference wins if OSU drops both to Ferris. A point this week is a must, one win much better.

Both teams have playoff postitions at stake this weekend that alone should make for a pair of great games. Ferris plays outstanding defense and its going to take alot of hard work in the dirty areas to make this weekend a success. Last go around in the schott for the seniors (unless they pull off the sweep and get some help from the top 3 teams). anyone know why in the world they are playing on thursday? I thought maybe something was scheduled in the schott on saturday but i looked it up and nothing.

OSU was taking it to the Lakers last weekend more than I'd seen all season. Hit After hit against the boards and on open ice. Wonder if we'll see that kind of show against Ferris?

If the earlier meetings between these two teams is any indication, I would expect more of the same (hitting, speed, in-your-face hockey). Both have much to gain by winning and more to lose by losing.

OT: Several weeks ago I met a buckeye fan at the Saturday Michigan-ohio state game at Yost. He was actually civil. OK, you're not all bad...

Thanks UMICH, There are a number of Michigan fans I've become friends with. OSU and Michigan have more in common then they like to admit. I've always thought of them as bad blood cousins. LOL!

All I can say is disappointing. 2nd period has been weak all season for us, Ferris doubled our shots on goal that period. Boyd had the game winner in the 3rd but misjudged his pass to the open side of the net which would have been an easy tap in.
