Funny, I can actually hear the events watching on my screen. (Which has a larger apparent size than your HDTV unless you're sitting right up against it.) :D

If they really wanted to make digital TV useful, they'd expose the comment track and let viewers control it.

The Olympic flame has gone out.

This means Mitt Romney is automatically Prime Minister AND President and David Cameron has to host a swingers party with Obama, Margaret Thatcher, Rick Santorum, and Sarah Palin.

You're not going to convince me to sit in front of my laptop to watch something when I can lay on my couch and watch it on TV. No. Way. In. Hell.

Meh. They don't work for NBC, and it's not their job to change how they cover things just because NBC made the decision to tape delay something in the age of instant news.

I don't know if this counts as a spoiler or not, but this fencing thing going on right now is ****ing crazy.

What is going on? I just clicked over to the online feed, but it's hard to tell without any commentary.

I'm just going off Twitter reports but in the fencing semifinal, apparently the German chick registered four hits in one second, which gave her the win. The Korean chick refused to leave and just sat there crying for like 15 minutes while the Koreans tried to file a protest(which you apparently have to pay for). It sounds like they eventually escorted her off. I was kind of hoping she'd stab one of the officials since she was already armed.

EDIT: And apparently the ruling stands. so the Korean chick is fencing for bronze.

Some French hoops player said the U.S. cann be beat by Brazil, Spain and Argentina.

Found an article - it was only 1 touch in the last second. Looks like they brought back the clock operator from the 1972 US-Soviet basketball game. It looked like the match was over, but they put 1 second back on the clock, and the German fencer was able to score a touch in that 1 second (which is quite an amazing and ridiculous feat) to take the match since a tie would have gone to the Korean.

I found it unbelievable. Course I also couldn't figure out how the French Guy blew by Lochte in the final 25 meters either. But that was more believeable then a 16 year old girl having better splits then the fastest male swimmers.

US women about to take on Angola for the first time ever. Australia upset earlier today by France.

USA women win by 52, 90-38. Could have been at least 70 if they shot decent from three point land. I think they were 2/18.
