As a former resident of the great Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong, I gotta say: I'm excited there's a Honker in the men's single sculls semi-finals. I mean, HK only has two medals in its history! And in 35 years or so, it'll cease to exist, for crying out loud. So I'm pulling for the guy. Keep hope alive!

The pudgy, ugly dateless girls who played field hockey at my high school didn't look anything like this. Otherwise we'd have played the matches in the football stadium, SRO.

I've been touting the *ahem* talents of the Dutch women's field hockey team for at least three Olympics now. I'm just happy everyone else is joining in the fun.

OP-Remember I attended RPI in the early 60's. The only way to tell if there were any girls on campus would have been to do buccal scrapings.

I have a new found appreciation for some of the women's sports at the Olympics in the past few Olympiads. Things have definitely changed since I was a kid and the Russians had the Press sisters.(both could grow a far better beard than I could)

Men take on Tunisia at 5 on NBCSN. Another blowout coming.
This fencing match I'm watching right now is extremely polite. I have to wonder though, was fencing a lot slower in the early years? I fail to see how anyone could officiate this given that it takes sensors and a light up mask to give points now.
