Official XXX Summer Olympiad: London 2012- Take II

Re: Official XXX Summer Olympiad: London 2012- Take II

Luckily NBC is bringing in Lou Holtz to translate.
Whoever writes this crap for NBC should be shot.
Right now, I'm picturing the producers in the control turning to each other after the interview and going "What the **** did he just say?

I think he was mad...and rightfully so. Whatshername did kinda get screwed over.

You'd have to chain me to a chair and tape my eyes open to get me to watch soccer. Even then I'm sure I'd fall asleep. Yuck.
I could say the same about baseball. One difference is any time someone talks about baseball I don't comment.

Really sucks that the rules create a zero sum game between teammates in an event that occurs every four years. It would be a bit more understandable if only eight or ten moved on, but 24 and you limit it to two per country? Sounds like youth soccer rules where the rules are manipulated so that someone get the experience of getting in the tournament, performance notwithstanding.

Especially when the competitor eliminated posted the fourth best qualifying score, and was beaten by the second- and third-best scores. If they don't want to throw it wide open, they could allow a third from a country only if they qualify in the top ten, or something like that.

Women's beach volleyball for me....especially those ground-level shots from "behind" the court....:)

Watching the Austrailians wear their bikini tops over T-shirts in their game this weekend was a bit odd though. Understand why they did it, but didn't make it any less weird.

Was that swimsuits over shirts, or was it all one shirt where the bikini parts were a different color?

Interesting note between UAE and GB. Turns out there is history between the sides as former England manager Don Revie bolted for the UAE after failing to qualify for the Euros and World Cup with a talented side in the 70s. (They shoulda picked Brian Clough, but that's a different story for a different day.)
That movie was great.

There is no way in hell I'm watching something online, with choppy, crappy video when I have a 50" HD TV to watch. I just don't get the fascination with sitting in front of a computer and watching TV on it instead of on a TV.

There is no joy to compare with watching the Olympics with no commentary. Imagine gymnastics without that woman's droning awful voice, or swimming without every fucking sentence being the equivalent of shouting "USA! USA!" to keep the derps interested.

Funny, my nice big 50' HDTV came with a remote control that has a mute button.

Re: Official XXX Summer Olympiad: London 2012- Take II

I think the real trick is something along the lines of getting a good or better surround sound system and then unplugging the central port= no commentary while keeping the stadium noise. Someone discovered it for Joe Buck and Troy Aikman on Sundays and it supposedly still works.
