Official XXX Summer Olympiad: London 2012- Take II

Re: Official XXX Summer Olympiad: London 2012- Take II

Huh. The Canucks have ads to promote nationalism sent out by their government. Just had one "Learn more about how the Americans attacked us 200 years ago and how we kicked their *** and won the battle for Canada in 1812."

Weird.

Weird.

They were just excited not to lose a war. It's the French part of their heritage.

So, are we blasting spoilers all over this thread or hiding them?

I don't want to see results until I watch the tape delay at night, so I'd rather not have spoilers in here, but if there are going to be, just make it known, and I'll avoid the thread.

Re: Official XXX Summer Olympiad: London 2012- Take II

Don't we usually have a results thread where spoilers can be posted before they're aired in primetime?

I rewatched the Senegal-Britain game and wow that ref was terrible. Must be Michel Platini picked the ref for the game.

Re: Official XXX Summer Olympiad: London 2012- Take II

I'd say the hurdles will be worth watching

The Brits appear to be dressed like Freddy Mercury.

Mr. Bean? He's that much of a British icon?

[edit] I normally like the OC but this sucks.

The Twitterverse is blasting the NBC Commentators. They don't know jack.

BTW, did anyone catch the opening segment when Brian Williams and Bob Costas were by the Thames?? A Frigate flying the Tricolor went by in the background. Lord Nelson must be rolling in his grave.

Just tell the French that the Bismarck is on its way. :D

they need to shut the f up

Bob Costas and Matt Lauer either need to shut up or get hammered on air.

Why does NBC insist, after making strides in covering the NHL better, in shooting themselves in the foot so badly in making their coverage of the Olympics so awful.

I understand making a "tape delayed, edited for time, prime time" event, but with the whole NBC family of channels, and with the globe being instantly connected via the internet, a live broadcast should be the minimum.

They could have easily offered a live feed and still had a taped prime time ceremonies show.

Surprisingly, that's what CTV / TSN did.

The upside is that Rio is our hemisphere. Maybe we'll get them live.
