Never thought i would say this again in my lifetime-US takes gold in the men's 10 meter platform over the Chinese. And it took the last dive to do it. One judge (Judge 5) made the difference by awarding the US diver a 9.5 and the Chinese diver a 9.0. That turned out to be the crucial difference. Great job by David boudia and a big upset surprise.

Somebody's facing execution over this one.

Absolutely a great race. Can't ask any more of the American team to break a record, yet they got beat by a better team- just an amazing job by the Jamaican team.

Too bad for Canada- who finished 3rd, but got DQ'd for passing the baton outside of the box.

Actually for stepping on the lane line, but crushing nonetheless.

This was their finest hour. Our country has never undergone the bombing that Europe and Japan did in WW-II.

I get that. We watch stuff on the history channel for hours on end about that but I don't get why we are watching a whole hour+ about WWII as part of Olympic coverage when we could see the sports they are compressing into little 60 second capsules. Call me silly.

Heh. I just turned it on and the guy is saying something about 22 fouls in 10 minutes. Well- in the NBA they let everything go when I watch (admittedly as little as possible).

Also if the officiating didn't suck it would be very helpful. They have been totally inconsistent.

We had wondered the same thing-what exactly is the NBC message here? We watch the military channel frequently and they do a better job of covering the war. I suppose it was just their way of filling the first hour of prime time like they did every night. Then they give us an hour of the semifianls of the men's diving? They could have just gone to the finals-or shown some extra track footage. Well anyway-we can be sure they will have full coverage of the closing ceremonies with a ton of human interest stories to add to the show.
