Ashoka Eaton did great.

But I learned something here on the prime time coverage- Tery Hardree had ligament replacement last year. And today finished second in the decathlon. Wow.

Amazing. As was the 4x400 guy that ran on a bum leg today.

The Olympics bring something out in people- did you see the runner who got hurt in his 400 heat? He limped across the line just to finish. I think he was from Turkey. I don't know the details of what happened, but just to finish.

That and a hand ball in the box. Definitely got the breaks from the ref.

Did the woman who ran down Hope Solo after she punched the ball away get penalized? That was pretty brutal- seems to earn a red card for that, too.

My most vivid memory of East German women athletes was Kornelia Ender, the swimmer. The shoulders on that woman were incredible.

Womens 5k done, sweep by east Africa- Americans were dropped with about 1k left.

The US women just destroyed the 27 year old 4x100 WR to win gold.

Womens 4x100 done. World RECORD set by the Americans!!! This record was set back in the 80's by the east Germans- 40.82.

Wow that was fast. The US team pulled away from the Jamaicans all but the last leg, but by then it was a matter of how much the record would be broken. Great race.


edit- no- they pulled away to finish. Geez.
